@The_Librarian - Sorry to see you go, Life has to come first. Hopefully we'll see you on the next round.

Ok, folks. I'll send some PMs out to the people that were on the waiting list, but to be fair to the rest, Once crazybirdman submits his character, I'll set up the RP Thread and kick us off.

Hey guys thanks for having me.

Seems like we are doing a post DS1, Edge type campaign?

I have a few character ideas I am working on thinking of going more pilot oriented.

Welcome aboard!

@valdattaMadun - Pilot sounds like a good plan, I don't believe anyone has significant skill there.
Jan 4, 2021 11:32 pm

So I am thinking I will go with a Xexto, Smuggler/Pilot. Pergano Wallali.

Work got busy today but I will be sure to figure out the character fully early tomorrow (I am PST)

Figure, Pergano is really a pilot-for-hire type of guy who isn't too shabby with a blaster when he wants to be as well. How/why he joins the adventure would probably be money/fortune/job related.

I can't wait to see the character - This is shaping up to be very interesting.

I forgot to ask, starting XP level or "Knight level" advance play XP?

I am excited to finish this guy off tomorrow morning

We're just doing Starting XP - :) plenty of room to grow.
Jan 5, 2021 4:00 am
What is the starting obligation? And can we get the extra xp for additional obligation?
Jan 5, 2021 2:39 pm
@TheVagrant - 10 points each for a party of 5 :) Yes, you can use for credits or XP.
Jan 6, 2021 12:08 am

Ok all, looks like we are set. My goal is to post the opener early on 1/6/2020 EST USA. That should allow everyone to post a response in their respective afternoon/evening. Life permitting, I'll try and stick to a morning post Mon-Fri, weekends are always up in the air, so If I'm home on the weekend, I'll post but I won't push the story unless everyone responds.

Also, if Sh*t comes up (known as life), just toss a post out for us. I don't mind skipping a day or two if your life (or mine) flies off the rails. This is supposed to be fun :) and cooperative. Also, I think several of you have played Star Wars FFG, if your comfortable with difficulties, go ahead and add them into any dice you roll. If you're not, feel free to PM me or post in the OOC chat forum that I'll setup. We can make suggestions or I can roll them IRL and do the math.

Personally, I'm really excited about this game, I've been playing/running Star Wars since 1990 (yeah, WEG was the bomb back then) and I've never seen an in person/table top game without a single human. So no, "I put on the Imperial Uniform and bluff our way out" for this group... Unless someone's Deception is off the charts. Clean jumps, and May the Force be with you.

I’m excited to play too. This is my first SW RPG, so... I’ll have questions. And do some dumb things. So, hope you can be a bit patient!
Jan 6, 2021 4:26 am
@Oddtrails, I have a 23 year old son, and an 11 year old son. At this point I'm not sure who's done more dumb things, them or me, but yeah patience, I think we can scrounge some up. :)

So, New to SW, not a big deal - you've seen a movie or two, it's Space Opera, bigger than life - Kind of what FireFly was going after, and got.

New to the Fantasy Flight Games version of SW - It's a different take than the previous versions - it's a Narrative game - That's a fancy way of saying that rather than the traditional - GM says "you see a dragon" and you say "I fight it" , You can use Triumphs to input your version of what happens. As with all game mechanics, it can take a minute before your brain wraps around the possibilities. There are plenty of good examples in the game books, but when you roll a Triumph or Despair, I always found that if you visualize the scene and think "what good (or bad), random (action movie) kind of thing could happen" that you'll start seeing possibilities for affecting the Story. Lots of gear has bonuses that can only activate on at Triumph and social skills have some pre-defined options, but the gist of the system is let your imagination flow. The 'table' can always call BS if it's too much or 'breaks' the feel of the game. Don't be afraid to throw it out there. Most of the best stories come after you've jumped off the cliff and before you figure out how to land, in one piece.

That sounds great! I've got the core books, it's just the I-don't-know-what-I-don't-know that will likely trip me up. I'm most accustomed to 5e, so this will be a change - but I like change!

Anyways, thanks for having me!
