It's at the end of the creation process. Starting characters get 500cr and I gave you guys another 1000cr to get your feet under you.

@ChrSch - you also roll 1d100 and get that many credits in your pocket. You can't spend them on gear at first, but instead, keep them as cash for the start of play.

Yes, that list contains items from several books. Anything with an (R) next to the price is generally illegal. I'd steer away from that stuff for initial purchases.

@Savagebob - Anytime you want to 'strike out' on your own. Just call out. :) Ahh Destiny Points. I rolled them once back in 2021 and then promptly forget that they exist. There is a Destiny Points thread if everyone wants to roll, or we can use the count that's there.

Wracking my brain, but I can't think of any way to sway the auction other than the already-existing threat that the Yiyars will get violent, and the others' attempts to spread false rumors about the crates. :/

I thought of maybe trying to trick some of the rival firms into inadvertently colluding—suggesting they all hire some muscle, and give them Zailor's contact. Then when they all realize they've all hired the same guy, they get thrown out for collusion. But that's the best I've got!

That's pretty good! Get them to collude then turn them in for colluding.

We could also try to turn the Yiyar against some of the potential high bidders. Play against their pride/honor.

and let's not forgot our actual goal, get a few specific crates for as cheap as possible.

Having slept on it, I wonder if I might alter the plan a bit (which would entail a slight retcon): Rather than having all these guys hire the same muscle (and thus inadvertently collude), could the Deception be for Creds to convince then to pack heat? I'm just trying to streamline things - so many steps to get them all to hire the same guy (and not sure if @ChrSch is on board with the plan). Convincing folks they need to be armed to face the Yiyar might be better.

would the goal be for a fight to break out and our competition takes each other out? or to get them removed from the auction for packing heat?

The latter -- Creds drops an anonymous tip to the local police that a lot of folks are violating Lianna's strict no-weapons laws. But a firefight breaking out would also be good cover for us to abscond with the goods as a backup scenario.
