I am ready when others are
Feb 22, 2021 6:59 pm
FYI: I check the board often, so if you don't see a post from me it just means I have nothing to add, and you can move on.

BTW - Everyone take 5 xp for finishing the first Chapter.
Feb 26, 2021 5:17 pm
I take it, XP expenditure you would like beginning of chapters? or at our leisure if we have it? I have seen it done differently on here
Feb 27, 2021 6:55 pm
at you leisure. You can say spent in on the couple day trip out here or on the 3 days it'll take to get to the crashed ship. :) or now.

Don't have enough XP to buy the talent I want yet. Credits on the other hand... should we discuss what to spend the advance on? Food and medical supplies in case there are survivors?
I do wanna buy one or two things for my Droid..

Sure, This is probably as good a place as any to do some shopping. Below is a little blurb about the main shops:

Sonou’s Apparel carries a complete line of starship- ready clothing for many common species. Jumpsuits, environment-specific wear, and even spacesuits are available, as well as a limited supply of formal wear. The clothes are surprisingly and suspiciously cheap, running at about two-thirds of the common market value (as shown on the Edce of the Empire Core Rule- book’s Gear and Equipment table on pages 182-3).

The Dented Droid is one of a chain of droid repair stores found in major space stations, starports, and cities around the galaxy. It is small, grimy, and filled with semi-functioning droids in addition to an impressive array of random parts scattered on shelves and in half-open boxes. The entire place seems filled with beeps, whirs, and the hum of ratcheting gears.

Farlander’s Outfitting and Supply is part-showroom and part-pawn shop. The store carries new and used gear ranging from shipboard tools to survival gear to maintenance equipment. Farlander’s also carries a limited selection of non-military-grade weapons, such as average blaster pistols and hunting rifles. If it’s not in the store, Nols and his inventory droid, CZ-332, can probably dig up something comparable from elsewhere on the station. Nols also buys used gear, as long as it is in working condition.

Also known as Hal’s, the parts store is a one-stop shop for picking up common parts for ships, vehicles, and related equipment. Basic items can be found in the store, while other parts can be ordered from warehouses elsewhere on the station.

TASIA'S TAPCAFE
Tasia’s is a quaint restaurant catering to travelers tired of shipboard meals. Alderaanian dishes are its specialty. With the Death Star’s recent destruction of Alderaan, Tasia’s Tapcafe has become a rallying point for refugees and anti-imperial sentiment.

I want a multi goo gun and need slicing gear, so I guess the pawn shop is my best bet. I don't want to just walk off if the group has something else we want/need to do though.
Feb 27, 2021 9:19 pm
That seems to be the place we could get gear for the job as well. I would be okay as a group going there
Feb 27, 2021 11:45 pm
So what equipment do we need for the mission? Medpacs, stimpacks, what else?
Feb 27, 2021 11:56 pm
Maybe some food, or bacta in case there is survivors? A space suit may not be a bad idea, I don't think there is one on the ship. My character should be able to salvage anything we need with the tools he has.

Blih would buy some forgery tools with his money if he has the time left after gathering info and/or spreading rumors for the mission.

So is anyone interested in writing up a list or do we just want to hand wave "Survival/Rescue gear" ?
Feb 28, 2021 9:38 pm
Yeah, I think for simplicity we can say we want to use the advance on a couple of survival kits, and maybe two spacesuits?
Feb 28, 2021 10:13 pm
I think the ship, and the survival kits have med packs, but another one won't hurt. Its our employers money anyway :D

I'm very much one for handwaving equipment, particularly around boring stuff like survival gear, ropes, rations and so on. But I'd like to upgrade Ken's armour/weapons with his own credits, and I wonder whether we ought to have a comm jammer on the ship.
Feb 28, 2021 11:18 pm
The tech I want isn't very rare. I'm not sure what the others want/need. Should we let the smoothest talker negotiate for the group/mission items and the personal items? I was thinking of offering to fix stuff at the pawn shop (if we have time) to try and help get a better price.

So, we'll assume roughly 5G of Survival Gear is being purchased and sent to the ship. Any item that is Rarity 5 or less, go ahead and purchase, we'll assume most stuff is list price, since the managers are mostly too busy to haggle. Anything Rarity 6 or higher, that'll need some kind of roll. It's most likely available, but might get pricey, depending.

There's roughly 8 hours until IT-3PO is supposed to arrive on the station and come to your ship. So let me know the specifics of your personal gear purchases.

@Mephistophilis - A com jammer would be around 3,000, which you could buy in whole or part with your 'equipment advance'. AD-hoc would have to work on installing it after you got going, since the time line wouldn't permit the installation before you leave.
