So is there much known about Duke's sister? I don't mind coming up with a story, but don't want to disrupt anything already established.

She’s in an insane asylum and mostly comatose. Thus Duke’s reaction. His wife Kitsne knows th tragic tale but no one else does. In honor of Duke’s memory of her, Kitsune names a town hat the party founded after her, but didn’t explain the significance to anyone. The sister may show up later or not. Best not to make up too much detail at this point.
