Episode 1 Scene 1 : The Arrival

"No, I'm not cursed, but those damned bracers must be!" Amos says gruffly. He allows Weimin to help him stand. He quickly gains control over his anger. No one is as angry as he who is wrong. I need to just let it go before they further suspect something.

"Thank you. For the...relief." He steps back to allow his companions to be rid of the bracers as well.

"You are welcome, and I will have these checked to make sure they are not malfunctioning." whether the Elf believed Amos' ruse or not was not clear but he did not pursue it either and just proceeded to swearing in Belgar'ath.

Once the bracer popped open the infernal itching quit and the feeling of the Weave once more flowed through Belgar'ath

Seeing the others get their bracers off, Karg steps up. He reads the oath carefully; he does not want to agree to something he will later regret. However, as he was already prepared to protect the people, he felt the oath was very reasonable, and would not ask much more of him than he already would strive to do regardless. He recites the oath solemnly, and in anticipation of the bracers' removal.

Once the oaths have been taken and the bracers removed and returned the Dwarf speaks up, "Yes with the basic formality taken care of and we are assured you mean no ill we are more than happy to discuss business with you. As for what we expect from you, nothing more than we expect from ourselves or any other member of the village and that is to pitch in and help while still doing what it is you do. Now if you can express perhaps what you would prefer to do or your skill set then we can ascertain what to assign you that is more appropriate for you."

"Well, we apparently work well together in a battle. We encountered many raiders as we saw our caravan safely here. I suppose if you have any tasks for those hardened by battle, we are the group for that. On a lighter note, I have been called a great chef." Amos tries to flash a smile but it falters in his exhaustion.

"Yes, getting to know the land sounds like fine idea though if there is need of a healer, I have both skills and spells that could be of use."

"Well very good then you are allowed a few days if you like to get acclimated to the village or you can get started right away the choice is yours. The issue I would have you look into is not of pressing concern but we would like it investigated thoroughly. So would you like a few days, or would you rather get started right away and get acclimated as you go?"

"I'm ready to go whenever. The sooner we know about the issue, the more we can help."

"It seems we are all pretty eager to get to work. Let's hear what you have for us then." Though he speaks about being eager, Amos looks anything but.

The Dwarf nods, "Very well then, Weimin that thing you have been concerned about might be something they can cut their teeth on."

The Elf nods and walks over to his desk where he opens up a fairly large book and then flips through a few pages before taking a moment to read something then says, "Okay we have a potential situation that we would like you to look into. We have had numerous reports of vandalism and raiding of the few farms south of town, now while none of these reports are consistent unto themselves upon compiling them all together there does appear to be enough to suggest that there might be more to it. As such we would like you to look into this and either determine if it is just mere unfortunate happenstance or if there is something going on that is more deliberate." He glances up and looks at the group, "Sound acceptable and if yes, any questions?"

"Sounds like just the kind of work I was hoping to find. Which of the farmers would be most helpful in providing us with information?"

"Well that we cannot say exactly as we have not spoken to these farmers directly and the reports we received do not get into that level of detail."

"Hmm. So we are going in blind." Amos looks worried for a moment before dismissing it. "Well, nothing for it." He turns to his companions. "I think I would rather not spoil myself with a comfortable bed tonight and my bag is already packed. I'm all for leaving immediately if you lot are."

Weimin comments to Amos' statement, "You might want to leave bright and early in the morning as the furthest farms from my understanding are a good days walk from here and that is just in one direction. Also keep in mind, you are going in to determine if there is an actual issue or if it is just all an unfortunate coincidence. So yeah if we had more information we would not need you to look into it since we would already know."
