The best April Fool they could make would be to make a Pathfinder 2nd edition which is more like D&D 4th. People would lose their fucking shit!
That would be hilarious! It does make me wonder when they'll eventually make a new edition of PF...

I saw someone posting a press release about 5E DnD PDFs.. That's true evil! Almost got my hopes up even though i knew the date, because... Well.. I WANT SOME PDFS MAN! ;) (especially with playing PbP on the go, it would have been so nice to have the complete books instead of the somewhat limited SRD to reference..)

I'm guessing that's what they have Starfinder for? And PF Unchained did some small fixes? They don't truly need to revamp the rules, just to put something fresh out there? I mean, Paizo's basically built their whole base on people wanting to play 3.5..

That being said, some streamlining here and there wouldn't be amiss, but damn that's a lot of books that will be useless :o

I guess anything closest to a new edition they'll make would be a Pathfinder Revised...

I think that Starfinder is basically going to be the D20Future of the Pathfinder multiverse... I wouldn't quote me on that, but that's my opinion

It looks like it's going to use the same ruleset and be compatible with Pathfinder, from other stuff I've read. Also, it's set in the same universe, just in the future :)
Quote:
Take your favorite fantasy RPG to the stars! Set thousands of years in Pathfinder's future, Starfinder is a stand-alone roleplaying game evolved from the Pathfinder rules and designed to bring you a whole new universe of science fantasy adventures. Play alien races both new and familiar as you explore the mysteries of a weird galaxy. Will you be an android assassin fulfilling corporate contracts, or a plucky ratfolk mechanic? A spellhacking lashunta technomancer, or a rakish human pilot? Uncountable worlds are waiting for you and your intrepid crew!

The Starfinder line will include both a hardcover core rulebook and key hardcover rules supplements, as well as a Starfinder Adventure Path that provides you with epic campaigns, expanded rules elements, and new monsters to battle. Best of all, Starfinder is designed to integrate easily with the Pathfinder roleplaying game, meaning your power-armored marine can still go toe to toe with orcs and dragons. So what are you waiting for? The galaxy needs you!

Yeah, they keep stating it should be compatible, at least with the pathfinder monster manual. I'm guessing they will introduce some new bells and whistles though, makes sense to change the game a bit when pulse rifles are the norm, not greatswords.

Going to be out of town starting tomorrow until late Sunday. Chances are that regular posting will not resume until Monday.

Bring it. Ain't skeered.

...I'm just a caster that's been grappled...no big deal.
Apr 21, 2017 11:48 pm
Speaking of...Kalajel, how do you deal with touch attacks while being grappled?
Apr 22, 2017 12:52 am
If I remember the grapple rules correctly, I guess you'd be doing so with a -2 penalty.... on top of the one you already have for being sickened... I'll post the details about being grappled on my usual post to announce the start of next round.

That's what I thought, too. Just wanted to see how you wanted to handle it.

Does entangling flying swarm creatures knock them out of the air?
Apr 24, 2017 5:33 pm
Good question... I think the real problem here is the size of the constituent creatures. At a certain size, only area-effects will affect a swarm. If your entanglement targets a single creature, it will fail.
Apr 24, 2017 5:49 pm
nope, its entangling shot from a blunderbuss. 15 foot cone auto hit. Deals half damage, but everything that fails a dc15 reflex save is entangled for 2d4 rounds.

side note: how do you half a d8 damage, roll a d8 and divide by two or roll a d4?

Also side note: does that mean every bug in the swarm takes damage, or the swarm as a whole?
