Oh, when there are battles, I link to a battle map. Outside of battles, I don,t really use maps. Well, maybe I'll have to map once you guys explore Castle Ravenloft proper, but for now there are no need of maps outside of battles.

OK, sounds good.

He uses a Google Slide solution for mapping. It's really slick.

Sounds pretty cool.

I saw in the main thread you are multiclassing, what are you going to move into?

It was just a joke as he found a holy symbol - that's all you need, right?

Sorry guys I am feeling a little lost. Are the Vestani vapyres or humans? If they are classified as undead I have a spell prepared that will hide the whole party from the spy.

I think they are like gypsies, and may be working for Stradh.
Jul 13, 2017 12:07 am
OK, so my undead spells are useless against them. Thanks.

Yup, qralloq is right about the Vistanis.

So one thing I am a bit confused about. Can I refresh my spells more than once a day? The book just says I need an hour to pray, I didn't see any specifics of how many times a day I can pray.

You pray for your spells only once a day. The time of day you can pray for your spells depends on the deity. Some must pray at dawn (typically the good deities), some pray at dusk (typically the evils ones), and I do believe a few pray at noon. You are not obligated to take all of your spell slots when praying, and can take a 10 or 15 minutes ( I forgot which one exactly) to pray for your remaining spell slots.

Edit: Never mind, seems this was D&D. In PF, you pick a time of day to pray and this time of day cannot be changed later. I'm still looking for the exact rule which stipulate that you are not obligated to prepare all your spell slots and can leave some unprepared to prepare later...

It's in the core rulebook under magic. Go to the section on clerics and

Spell Selection and Preparation: A divine spellcaster selects and prepares spells ahead of time through prayer and meditation at a particular time of day. The time required to prepare spells is the same as it is for a wizard (1 hour), as is the requirement for a relatively peaceful environment. When preparing spells for the day, a cleric can leave some of her spell slots open. Later during that day, she can repeat the preparation process as often as she likes. During these extra sessions of preparation, she can fill these unused spell slots. She cannot, however, abandon a previously prepared spell to replace it with another one or fill a slot that is empty because she has cast a spell in the meantime. Like the first session of the day, this preparation takes at least 15 minutes, and it takes longer if she prepares more than one-quarter of his spells.

Ok, thanks guys. I guess I didn't read enough.

I think noon makes sense for someone praying to the sun god, but would that be annoying in the campaign? I am happy to say first thing in the morning as well.
Jul 19, 2017 4:02 am
Noon or dawn makes sense. Noon can be a bit annoying if you're inside a dungeon at the time and fail to notice it's noon and forget to prepare your spells. But this mini-campaign isn't exactly dungeon-crawl intensive. The biggest dungeon is Castle Ravenloft itself, and there are plenty of places where you can see outside, so the chances of missing noon should be slim in my opinion.
Jul 19, 2017 4:04 am
Ok. I will say my character prays around noon then. I think it makes the most sense lore wise.

And I mean if I am inside a dungeon I won't know when dawn is either.
Jul 19, 2017 3:45 pm
So basically, this means that now, the party is at the church, waiting for noon so that Heather can pray for her spell for today (the spells you have right now being yesterday's spells when you prayed at noon).

I think thats a fair assessment. I don't know whats next, but roland is still hurting after that fight. a few hours to heal wouldn't hurt.
Jul 20, 2017 2:10 pm
Hey Kalajel is it alright for me to use that last level 2 spell for a Lesser Restoration for Durgrim. Had I known he was hurt too I would have prepared it with the others.
