Jon and Angel strain to see what Clarissa is pointing too but see nothing. Attention is then drawn to a loud splash as Joseph lands in the river!

No simple task in the heavy rain, Angel fails to get rope anywhere near Joseph. He very nearly follows the rope down the muddy bank himself.
Aug 22, 2016 1:34 am
OOC:
Angel to the rescue!

Is Joseph getting swept away in the current?
Angel looks back at the others. "Help me! I can't get the rope to him!"
Aug 22, 2016 8:56 am
OOC:
He will if he doesn't react himself soon!
Aug 22, 2016 2:16 pm
Jon struggles to his feet, grabbing Angel's rope in one hand to help him pull it back to shore, then giving a twirl and throw himself...attempting to help even though he only has the one arm right now.
OOC:
Oh, that's not going to end well for me...

I don't have time for this shit. Mathis says as he decides to act again. He takes one of his ropes, ties it to the car, and then ties it to himself. He uses a climbers hitch so he can pull himself back in once he has retrieved Joseph. Machete in one hand and the gleam of a mad man twinkling in his eye Mathis strows past all the others he sees as "lolly gagging" around instead of saving this man. he heads straight into the water to save joseph, and if that pink tentacally bastard gets anywhere near him he is going to cut its freaking head off.

The cold water rushed up to meet Joseph as he is dragged under. Frantically he starts kicking, trying to free himself from whatever has hold of him, and tries grabbing at anything to pull himself up

Joseph starts to get dragged away by the current. He appears to be kicking and punching at something unseen and swimming particularly well. Jon helps reclaim and throw the rope a second time with little effect. Meanwhile, rope around his waist, Mathis slides down the bank and swims in pursuit of Joseph. The current does most of the work and he grabs Joseph in a bear hug as and they get dragged further away only to stop with a jarring halt as the rope reaches its limit. The others set to pulling the two of them back to safety.

Once the men are safely on the land again, the cars recommence pulling the truck and soon get it out of the water. Of the thing some of you saw in the water there is no longer any sign.

After things have called down, Angel approaches Joseph, "Are you all right? How did you end up in the river? One minute you're standing there and the next you're being swept away. "
