OOC:
I'll consider those all PER/Technician checks.
Nero wastes some time and energy engaging in futility before you all decide to examine the doors. While Nero wastes more time checking if the sand if jamming the doors, both Sam and Sorrack will notice what seems to be a control panel. The reason you did not noticed it first is because it does not "pops" out of the door, everything is flush with the strange metal of the doors. There are some inscriptions in a strange alien language that none of you understands with two buttons that, if it weren't for the faintest hint of an outline for them, you wouldn't know they are there. Sorrack is about to suggest to be careful as you have no idea if those are the buttons which will open the door when Sam decided to blindly tempt her luck and press one...

The doors then start to open, revealing a large hangar with many alcoves and two rooms near the back. A set of stairs are visible further back, behind a pile of crates which are stacked roughly in the middle of this large hangar. The high ceiling seems to be getting even higher about one-third the way in, and you can see what looks to be a control booth up high, with large windows to give any would-be operators there a good view of this hangar. And of course, the most obvious feature of all, the badly chemically burnt body of a dead Erakai lying in front of you... The same burns you saw on your fellow survivors when you had to run for your lives...

Do we have a way to contact the ship? We should let it know we found a body.

She then checks the body to see if she can determine anything from the body that might help them understand what they are dealing with.

Nero tells Trudy, we could use to get this place alive so we can learn more about it from its computers. Sorrack do you have a wristcom to contact the ship and give details. Never can tell what is in that blob.

Trudy absorbs Nero's comment with no sign of acknowledgement. He does examine the room for a way up to the control booth in cases he is ordered to comply with Nero's suggestion. The dead Erakai elicits no reaction from him other than to compare the body with the crew manifest.
Mar 26, 2021 2:36 pm
The knives Sorrack has been idly playing with disappear into somewhere, and from that same somewhere a wristcom is produced. It is surprisingly clean, not nearly as covered in goo as one might expect. He actives the comm and begins relaying information to the ship. He walks over to the body, looking for any identifying marks on the body or uniform.

@ Sam:
OOC:
So this will be a PER/Medic check.
You did not had time to examine the other shipwreck survivors' bodies as you were running for your lives back then, so you decide to take the time to examine this one. If this is indeed the same creatures which attacked you that did this, perhaps you can learn a bit more about those...

Subject seems to be a zin-era Erakai and the cause of death seems to be chemical burns which covers a large percentage of its body. The burns seems to have been caused by some highly caustic substance, not unlike what can passes for stomach acid in many lifeforms across the Frontier. Curiously, Sam also finds some small bit of molten metal encrusted into the Erakai's skin where the larger burns are located. Recalling what she knows of Erakai biology and the current temperature, Sam determines that time of death would correlate with the window of time the Dawn Star's crew went missing...

@ Trudy: If there are indeed any computer to interface with, they are more than likely located in that small observation station above you. Also, looking at the dead Erakai before you, it would correspond to Yularia Rydthang, the ship's medic.

@ Sorrack: Sorrack contacts Yvonne. "You've found a dead Erakai you say. This must be Yularia Rydthang, our ship's medic. This is troubling news... I hope the others survived."

Sorrack asks the ship:
Now that the doors are open, are you able to do a scan or something for life forms or wristcomms. Maybe point us in the right direction?
OOC:
Is there an alcove near the main opening? If so, Sorrack walks over and peers inside. Carefully, as not to trigger any sort of critter or slime crab

Trudy can hover but the repulsor jets do not allow him to fly. He thinks he can probably punch holes into the walls for climbing, unless there is an obvious way up.

"Mistress, the control booth appears to be the likely place for computer interface terminals. Would you like me to climb up there?"
Mar 26, 2021 7:58 pm
OOC:
I did said there were stairs at the back...
Yvonne responds. "Scanning...

...

...

Scanning inconclusive. The strange materials of the interior prevents my scans from functioning properly..."
Mar 26, 2021 8:52 pm
"Mistress, I've spotted the stairs."
Mar 27, 2021 1:24 am
Yes go see what you can find out, Trudy.

It looks like he died pretty much right after they went missing. I wonder if they maybe let something out or disturbed something that caused this.

Nero says, Let us fully search this possible craft. Perhaps it is still operational. That and we need to find the others or bodies as it might be. The creature may have gotten them. He knows the other party members know this. He just felt like saying that. Can Nero reach any of the possible control for this possible craft? That is what he is trying to do now. He says to Sam while searching, There is something around here dangerous for sure. You can see what it did to that man. Most likely he is following Trudy.
OOC:
I can't really picture what this is. But I believer what you are describing might be ship, you have not said that.

Trudy heads off to the stairs, his integrated blaster popping out ready to blast the unknown back into the unknown. He'll climb up ready for surprise computer interfacing.

OOC:
@ Gene: Well, you are in the hangar of some structure. What exactly is that structure is hard to say for the moment as you only saw the hangar, the stairs, the alcoves, the two rooms at the back, and the control both high above you. Though it does not look like the hangar of any ship you've seen before, it is all alien in design, so who's to say, really...
As you begin to enter the massive structure, you hear a faint noise.

Scratch
Scratch
Scratch

After pausing and listening a little closer, you notice that the cadence begin to change and a new sound is evident.

Scratch
Scratch
Hisss

Although the emptiness of this room makes it hard to tell where the sound comes from, you have a good idea of which direction this sound is in. Now, do you investigate or avoid it?

Sorrack, with a swipe from one of his knives opens a rent in the back of his space suit. From the new opening, a third arm begins to emerge, the new hand gripping a the hilt of a basic whip, its length coiled around the arm. Sorrack looks in the general direction of the noise, but pointedly does not step towards it. He looks at the rest of the group, ready to take his cue from them.

He gets a strange feeling, a sort of tingling throughout his body. Fear? Excitement? Both.

Trudy, we may have company coming. she watches the direction of the mouse and pulls her blaster out.
OOC:
why do I feel like we are facing the flood from halo.
Mar 28, 2021 4:12 am
Nero thinks the same as he too pulls out blaster let. Let us hope it is the other crew men. as he begins to move in on the the scratching noise.
Mar 28, 2021 4:33 am
Trudy lowers his blaster. "Shall I make tea, mistress, for this company?" He looks around for a kettle.
Mar 29, 2021 12:48 am
It might not be friendly company.she says as she hangs back and watches Nero's back.

OOC:
Nero can make a PER check?
