Cooper says that the repairs are well under way and he will not require assistance.
It cannot tell you anything more about the shooter. It tells you that it is a focussed energy weapon, whatever that means.
OOC:
Initiative should be fine. Initiative rolls are you trying to beat a target difficulty. For the quintpods, that's three, so you would need a 9+. The skill gives you an asset on the roll, decreasing the roll one step to difficulty 2 so you would need to roll 6+ to act before them.
The rulebook is clear that the sample skills are only samples, and are not meant to be exhaustive. Coming up with other skills is entirely appropriate.
Resting is handled through Recovery rolls, which are listed on your character sheet as four check boxes. One takes 1 round, another 10 minutes, then 1 hour and then 10 hours. Your Recovery rolls replenish after a 10 hour rest. Each takes the indicated time (uninterrupted) to use, and replenishes 1d6+1 points for you to allocate between your pools. You don't need to use them in that order -- I sometimes try and leave the 1 round one for emergencies, for example.
