OOC:
Since the threat has been dispatched of, I feel it's alright to give you a quick peek behind the DM's screen and mention that I'm both mildly disappointed at that Giant Tick's poor attack rolls for this encounter, but more so I'm relieved. At AC3 and 3HD (
I rolled 13HP for the monster), Giant Ticks are no joke, and I was almost certain that someone would have died in the fight. And considering that Eltrezar, the squishiest of the party members (as well as the only one completely unarmored) was the one who opened the cask and was subject of a Surprise Round, I'm really surprised he specifically isn't dead...
According to the module, Giant Ticks only make a To-Hit roll once, doing 1d4 piercing damage that turn. On all other subsequent turns, it no longer needs to make To-Hit rolls for that target, but automatically does 1d6 bloodsucking damage to its victim until the PC it grabbed hold of is dead or the tick is.
Needless to say, the tick carries no treasure and this room appears to be empty and lacking in anything of value.
