Half-price? Is that with inflation? I was thinking quarter-price at best! :P

Gilly draws another arrow and fires it at the tick. Again, her missile pierces the soft underbelly of the bloodsucker, and it gives a final wet hiss before twitching a few times and going still. The Giant Tick is defeated...
OOC:
Since the threat has been dispatched of, I feel it's alright to give you a quick peek behind the DM's screen and mention that I'm both mildly disappointed at that Giant Tick's poor attack rolls for this encounter, but more so I'm relieved. At AC3 and 3HD (I rolled 13HP for the monster), Giant Ticks are no joke, and I was almost certain that someone would have died in the fight. And considering that Eltrezar, the squishiest of the party members (as well as the only one completely unarmored) was the one who opened the cask and was subject of a Surprise Round, I'm really surprised he specifically isn't dead...
According to the module, Giant Ticks only make a To-Hit roll once, doing 1d4 piercing damage that turn. On all other subsequent turns, it no longer needs to make To-Hit rolls for that target, but automatically does 1d6 bloodsucking damage to its victim until the PC it grabbed hold of is dead or the tick is.
Needless to say, the tick carries no treasure and this room appears to be empty and lacking in anything of value.

From the doorway, the wizard speaks up. Hrmph! "If this is what we can expect, I should not be upset if Miss Gilly takes your shares of the treasure. But let us not waste any more time, there is still much to explore. We shall check the room by the door, though I would prefer if one of you armored warriors stood in the lead." With this, he collects his daggers and ushers the rest of the party towards the final unexplored room on this floor.

Killy Gilly will gather any arrows that are still usable and follow the warriors to the next location.
OOC:
There’s the round tower area and the secret door that we couldn’t solve, right?

"Whoever decides to take the lead here should consume one potion I received from the druid. It will allow you to determine if danger lies within the room. We do not need to be caught unawares again. But the rest we should save for the lower levels."
OOC:
I believe so, yes. But we spent a lot of time poking around that secret door, I'm not sure we'll find the answers to it right now.

Gilly recovers two arrows from the Tick's abdomen that look reusable. The other one lays broken, the tip chipped off where it took a bad landing against the stone floor.
OOC:
There's the round tower area, the room with the secret door you haven't figured out yet, and the stairs below the Moathouse Ruins, in the Storage Room that the rats came from.

OOC:
I believe someone suggested that the secret door could be an exit rather than an entrance. Before we descend we should check everything up here, right? So the tower then?

As the group approaches the tower, you notice that there the door has rotted away after years of exposure to weather and the elements.
Quote:
The upper portion of the tower has collapsed, and the interior is dark.

OOC:
Edit: We haven't picked up the potions of Detect Danger. I thought we had. Enter at your own risk.

Gilly raises a hand for quiet, and then strains to hear anything in the ruins.
OOC:

"That went reasonably well! I think my presence has proved a lucky boon to you all!"

Gilly approaches the darkened door and listens for any sounds coming from the interior. At first she hears nothing, but just as she's confident the room is empty, she hears a light clicking sound.

"Somethings in there! It’s clicking. Maybe an insect or something? Probably a large one! Let’s light it up before going in!"

Mal removes a torch and tinderbox from her pack and sparks the thing into life. She tosses the torch into the room as Gilly asked and then rearms her shield and hammer.

"After you!" she says cheerfully to Bors...
