So here is Archibald Delaney. I had created him as an archaeologist for another Mummy's Mask game but he wasn't chosen :P

The Delaneys were a minor noble family in Almas, during the Andoran People's Revolution. The family wisely relinquished their holdings during the revolution and sided with the revolutionaries, thus guaranteeing the family's continued existence. The family had actually been in decline over the previous decades - mostly due to stagnation - as the family did not want to endanger their holdings by venturing on risky endeavors. The loss of most of the holdings after the revolution actually brought out the best in the family, reinvigorating long forgotten talents such as risk taking and entrepreneurship, as the family pledged their remaining assets to House Valney to establish new ventures. Archibald, who, under normal circumstances, as the youngest son, would have at best been a minor noble without a hereditary title, found himself in an exciting environment where he could climb the social ladder through merit.

Archibald was accepted to the Almas University but his family was not able to pay all of the hefty tuition fee. Archibald decided to enter into a contract with House Vaylen, who was the leading power in acquisition and exportation of artifacts and relics from exotic locations such as Arcadia and Mwangi Expanse. To pay off his debt, he first used the knowledge he gained from his education to identify and catalogue these relics, and afterwards, lent his knowledge to expeditions for House Vaylen, to pay off his debt.

By the time the proclamation about the opening of the Osirion's ancient tombs and burial sites reached Andoran, Archibald had already paid off his debt to House Vaylen and had overtook an important position in the Almas University Library through the years , to both learn as much information as possible from the rare books, and to share his knowledge about artifacts and his expeditions. The chance of acquiring relics and knowledge from Ancient Osirion created great excitement within the University, and Archibald persuaded the University that his knowledge regarding Ancient Osirion would be invaluable to the expedition. His proposal was accepted, and he travelled to Osirion as part of the expedition, with his additional private aim of authoring a book about the first forays into Ancient Osirion in decades, which he hoped would increase his standing significantly.

Skarab is a half-orc desert druid. He is native to Osirion, living with a nomadic trading tribe that wanders around, scavenging and looking for items to sell in the local markets they come across.

Secretly, his tribe is a host of druids from the old world, who look to cleanse the world of unholy life. Upon hearing of the opening of the city of the dead, Skarab left his tribe to seek his own fortune and glory in raiding the tombs of the ancient kings and nobles. But undeath has a way of finding those of his tribe...

Awesome characters, both! Both the Archivist and Desert Druid were archetypes I was exploring when I made my character. I'm really excited to see them both in action.

Let me edit the last post so Skarab arrives with Archibald.

I edited my post as well to include Skarab's company. So since Abenor knew us I guess we had planned a rendezvous with the Destined Delvers at the House of Pentheru?

For ease of bringing you in, let's assume you've met before, while the DD were putting together the crew. You weren't able to make it initially, and are coming in now that you're both free.

@ianXian should be coming along as well, but I'm not sure when their character will be ready.

Omg I'm so sorry I just saw this. I was definitely thinking an elf Druid who can detect magic or a elf Rouge with similar prowess. And yes this is my first time crafting a character in pf. So any advice would be helpful.

My standard disclaimer: The game is largely urban, and undead, trap, and construct heavy, so consider that builds unsuited for that may be frustrated.

We do have a desert druid, and a trapfinding rogue, but it's a big group, so duplication isn't really a terrible thing.
May 24, 2022 9:34 pm
Yeah, duplication isn't bad. If you settle into one of those two classes, I'd be happy to hash out character option ideas (there are a lot of options!). Some of the class archetypes might allow you to play a version of the class that feels thematically different despite some overlap.

Also happy to help out. If you were looking at rogue or druid worthwhile touching base with their corresponding players just to check their focus and but as C1nder says there are a lot of options. For example desert druid gets wild shape later so Hero Among Men may not be focusing on it (Bu t the of course can correct me if I'm wrong)

I will say if looking rogue I will always point people towards unchained rogue. Its just better.
We do also have a space for some full casters but I also thoroughly accept they can be complicated and not always best for new payers especially prepared casters. (Those who have to prep each spell down to the number of times a day it can be cast)

Mine is definitely more of a Druidic caster.
May 25, 2022 12:01 am
OK well I will go ahead and choose something different than Druid. Bc I was definitely going more toward a range spell casting Druid with a focus on quick, acrobatic, stealthy and intelligent the character was going tonbe a native of this osirions looking to bring all the artifacts to science (a la Indiana Jones "it belongs in a museum") but more of a contractor for that position. He doesn't care why it's special, just that his benefactors want it. But the connection from being a Druid be that some of these artifacts had a religious overtone that were being searched for.

OK I've got the character built
Elf Roguge Trapsmith
Drak'wa Trreezuurbef
Drak'wa Trreezuurbef hails from Osirion. His grandfather was an antiquities smuggler. Following in his footsteps, but being rescued after his death by Professor Trreezuurbef, curator at Osirion National Museum, he has a noble ideal of bringing the antiquities to the museum. He cares very little for their history, although his knowledge is vast, but more for the connection to his smuggling past. His grandfather died in prison, being beaten to death by the corrupt politicians who were also imprisoned. His grandfather died being called a rat. Drak'wa knows the truth. He was tortured to speak. Drak'wa wants to bring glory back to his grandfather's name, as much glory can be gained in the underground world. He believes he can atone by brining the antiquities the museum, bringing glory to his grandfather's name.

I dig the background! Looks like we'll be covered for traps pretty well.
May 27, 2022 7:35 am
Perhaps I shouldn't have take trapfinder trait to be backup rogue, we are pretty well covered :)

Baltar says:
Perhaps I shouldn't have take trapfinder trait to be backup rogue, we are pretty well covered :)
Feel free to change that.
Yesterday was kind of a write off for me, but let's get ourselves going. @ianXian jump into the scene with the others joining, Archibald and Sarah. Let's have you coming in with the priests too -- no need to make this overly complicated.

Don't forget to add the +1 morale bonus from the Flagbearer feat!

As long as you hold your clan, house, or party’s flag (see page 293), members of that allegiance within 30 feet who can see the flag (including yourself ) gain a +1 morale bonus on attack rolls, weapon damage rolls, and saving throws against fear and charm effects. You must hold the flag in one hand in order to grant this bonus. If the standard is taken by the enemy or destroyed, this bonus becomes a penalty, affecting all creatures that the bonus previously affected for 1 hour (or until you reclaim the lost flag).

Flagbearer is a fun feat. If you aren't already aware of it I'm just gonna point out the Banner of Ancient Kings which combos with it nicely later down the road. I have it on a battle herald. If you were already aware, apologies :p

Indeed, that is one of my aims for the future, wrapping the Banner of Ancient kings to an elven branched spear and fight just behind the front lines :)

Rolling 3rd lvl HP. Come on, big money!

Edit: Darn. Well, with CON bonus, that's 5 more hp total, for 28 HP

Also, everyone gets +4 to saves against fear, so long as I'm conscious and nearby!
