Okey. I'll read the threads in the forum when I find the time. Right now I'm thinking of playing a Druid. I'm not sure how druid's particular skills would correspond to this journey's needs but survival skills, knowledge in certain areas and crafting skills seemed appropriate. Something like an option in-between rogue and arcane.
I'll complete the character sheet definitely by then. Won't be a problem.

By the way, is there an equivalent of D&D Beyond in Pathfinder where I can just select the necessary stuff for characer creation and see the outcome? I'll stick with basic rules builds probably so that won't be a problem but if I have to manually fill in the sheet that will be tedious and I'll definitely miss some stuff.

Pathbuilder, I use for 2e, no idea how good the 1e version is. Its a phone app, not sure if 1e version has a browser option.

I have access to something called herolab (very expensive if you buy all in one go, the group of us who use it built ot up over a few years). I would be happy to plug stuff in for you and get a sheet out of it.

If you are looking at druid for survival and skill, I will also point out a ranger who is less reliant on being out in nature, ans you can select urban terrains, but is also more fighty than spelly, (And far better than they seem to be in 5e)

I use pathbuilder. It is very good, but some options (and books) are not completely implemented, but for the basics it is perfect. There isn’t a browse version, but you can use an emulated mobile to use it in your PC. I think it is just better to use the app. We are at level 2.

I may add that all the wild character classes have Urban archetypes. There is an Urban Barbarian, Urban, Ranger, Urban Druid, Urban Bloodrager and Urban Hunter.

The Hunter is a good middle ground between a Druid and a ranger and can be very powerful with teamwork feats.

I would not recommend the Urban Druid since it loses the animal companion.

I'm fairly certain you'll build your character to level 2, as that's where we are.

Do you have the player's guide? It gives a VERY good rundown of what the game is about and pointers for viable class options. You can find it HERE for free. For example, it recommends the Desert Druid or Serpent Shaman druid archetypes for that class, which might fit more thematically.

A little about Tabat: He is an Aasimar but those non-human traits are subdued in most cases. He presents mostly as human with the only consistent indicator that something may be different being his bright, golden eyes that almost shine in the dark. He wears bright, silver and gold colored armor, a shield adorned with a scarab, and carries a khopesh into battle. He aims to be as radiant as the sun, to treat everyone with the measure of respect they deserve and protect those he can.He is decent at hitting things, taking hits, Knowledge (religion), diplomacy, and DESTROYING EVIL! Eventually he will have a mount (probably a camel).

idk how good it is, but there may be an app you can get called Pathbuilder - it might be garbage, or it might be good, I haven't tried it myself, but have heard of it.

EDIT: Good to see SurferofSaragar's short review of Pathbuilder for 1e above! I might give it a try.

I don't use an android phone so unfortunately I can't use Pathbuilder and its web version only supports second edition sheets. However, after a ton of Youtube videos, some basic but lacking character generators and reading of rulebook, I think I managed to understand the hard part. I haven't looked at equipment buying, though. Do you have any suggestions on that? How should I proceed?

At lvl 2, unless Qralloq has a different plan, you'll probably have 1,000GP to spend on gear. This is going to be subjective to your class, but a good place to start is a Class Kit, found HERE

For example, the Druid's Kit is only 14gp and includes: animal feed (5 days), a backpack, a belt pouch, a blanket, a flint and steel, holly, mistletoe, an iron pot, a mess kit, soap, a spell component pouch, torches (10), trail rations (5 days), and a waterskin.

These kits are typically less expensive than buying the pieces ala carte.

So I won't be using starting wealth coming from class and instead get 1000 gp's? Also, are there any restrictions on what I can and can't buy?

So, to update you all: I've focused on character creation today and how to set up skills etc. I'll look at the campaign-specific book you suggested and be done with it today. Tomorrow, I'll start building the character for real, with all the equipment shopping and details. I'm still reading the corebook of course but some things I'll have to learn on the road.

Typically: yes to the 1k gp, no re: restrictions - but Qralloq may have a different thought, so I'll defer to him for confirmation.

I would definitely wait on Qralloqs, as a party we have been keeping a fifth loot split, so you may come in on 1st level wealth but then get that.

I have no problem with an extra 1000 gold to our party. As I said earlier, I'm less preoccupied with equality then with having a well-equipped team. I know most of us have 900 gp (me included), with some of us having more due to having claimed equipment. But that will not do any difference in the long run.

Well we can divide chunkys lot between us or keep it as party share.

That is a option. The problem is how to roleplay this.

For me party treasure is like a bar bill, as long we don't have anything really unjust, the important is that everyone had some fun.

I've decided to go with a ranger and I see that my skill rank is "6 + Int modifier per level". Since my Int modifier is +1, it means that I get to spend a whopping 14 ranks on my skills, right? (provided that I cannot spend more than my level in a specific skill, in this case 2) It just seemed a lot.

That IS correct - pretty good number of skill points :) What race did you pick?

Half-elf. Coincidentally, after I picked this race-class combination, I've found a Youtube video that describes how to create that exact character in Pathfinder 1e and explains in detail how to fill the sheet. In the video he picked the Skill Focus feat and added an additional feat of his choice. How does that work? I don't remember seeing anything like that in class or race explanations.

Okay cool - keep in mind that everyone at level 1 chooses a favored class as well. Any time, including 1st level, you gain a level in your favored class you get an additional HP or skill point. So if you go with skill points, you could potentially start with up to 16 skill points!

Half-elves get the racial trait 'Adaptability', which gives them the Skill Focus feat for free at level 1. In addition, all characters get 1 feat of their choice at level 1.
