MagnificentFly says:
The hero's first mission defines its skill (Diplomacy, Military, Logistics, Scout), which you can use once for help.
Does this mean that I can have one of my hero units have a skill in Logistics which can be used once as a resource die?
Yes. Once per scenario I mean. Just a little boost if you need :) I’m thinking of having Gallavant/Gareth challenged now, but we can work a challenge around the twins
mormegil says:
I don't know how to make a custom character sheet...
Ah right sorry, I didn’t understand that was it :(
Basically, what fly said :) and yes, everyone rolls a 1d4 this time (keeping it simple ;)

So, when we will have a challenge for the twins, it will determine the skill which they can use once during the scenario (unless they separate and become two different units). Then when second scenario will start the skill boost will change based on the first challenge for that scenario for that Hero Unit.

I've got ideas for both pairings. Gareth/Gallavant should probably go first though, makes for better narrative. I can jump to twins later when something eventful happens on their way but with Gareth and Gallavant it would have to be more procedural.

About towns controls, the way I understand it, we get a resource die per town we control per 'turn', the only way to claim the town is to draw a card with character value (Jack, Queen or King) and the suit determines how it was obtained. However, can we make it a choice between long-term and short-term boost. Like, for example, using Military action we could take over the town that will provide a resource die every "turn" or raid the town and have 2-3 resource dice once?

You guys can always jump back to any character at any time, even if I don’t mention it in my cues. I’m trying to weave these stories together into something consistent, but you are driving by them :)

If I asked what the twins are doing, for example, you can talk about GG as well.
The hero skill, the way I though it would be permanent. But, to be fair, you only need to name 4 character to cover all skills :)
It’s kind of helping you flavour it mechanistically so if you have a diploma-te, you use it for diplomacy, instead of having a jack of all trades character.
Raiding vs controlling is an interesting question I didn’t think about. I suppose you would rarely be better off raiding but, if that works better for the narrative, maybe we can still have 1 resource per turn and just say the raid lasted that long 🙄 raiding it is definitely something to consider if the current rules can’t handle such edge case

We may want to post/copy the plot/story suggestions on the house-specific thread so we can find it easily next time :)

OOC:
finally managed to go through the first cards! 🎉
This next week will be slower, but hopefully things will pick up the pace once I get back

- So, as you can see from my post, I rolled 1 (of course) and the cost is the life of three people (out of 20-something that lived through the storm), the spirits nagging Lilinoe and the necessity to attack the wizard. I'm not sure if that's the "punishment" that you had in mind.

- Also, if 1 is "hard success with a punishment", shouldn't 4 be "a success with a prize" and 2 "plain success" etc?

- TBH, I didn't write anything about Solmyr because I don't want to branch the story into two more separate narratives. But, in one or two posts I will make contact, no worries :)

- I have created a character of Aeron Greyjell (had to do that, just love Greyjoys) - do you add this stuff to the house/retinue ?

I was also wondering about the effects of the d4, but I figured that it just provides a reason to maybe dump more resources. If you really want to pass something, you can push more resources, so you have a greater chance of success. Is that right or were you thiknking about giving any more incentive to succeed.

I don’t really have much in mind (or try not to :) ) I think that is a nice hard choice that will haunt L for a long time

Right, I though about that, but then the success with price would change with the die and become less likely as well. That’s why I only started with rolling 1 having meaning. Start simple and, if we need, we can modify it to fit the game better :)

Sure, no problem, you can write from any point of view you want to. This way we’ll be wondering what Solmyr is up 👍

Stealing shamelessly from everywhere since… whenever RPGs started 😆
I would had any character for future reference. Maybe a minor one now can be reused lager for some big role?

Yeah, that’s it. Without the die it would be just shared writhing. This way we have some randomisation. Maybe you wanted it to go one way and the die says no? 😅

Quick check on how mormegil and MagnificentFly are doing :) Any question or anything you’d like to check?

I'm good, should I put clarifications for the House in posts and you can update as needed and then delete the posts when I introduce new heroes or info on world building? My apologies if it's all over the place.
Aug 4, 2021 2:31 pm
Sorry if I haven't posted much...too busy at work... I might make a post later on this day or tomorrow.

As Remant said 👍 just checking the motivation (which is though on PbP with life and those distractions 😆 )

Sounds good. Can you edit all the posts there by the way?
Aug 4, 2021 5:01 pm
No but I can post at the end in a format so you can copy/paste and then delete my posts so it looks cleaner?
Aug 4, 2021 5:07 pm
Strange… maybe I need to turn on that "moderator" option… 🤔

Yeah sure, go ahead and post :) I’ll have to clean up when I get back to my computer anyway.
You guys can also it to send notes to yourselves for ideas or discuss any stuff to u want

Update: Military Opposing Lord's Town (Would this be the Elves or Barbs??)
Resources: Resources Opposing Lord's Town (Would this be the Elves or Barbs??)
These are two great wins 😱 maybe you can push back the elves as they move against Ironfist (who is now close) and gain access to the mines in the region, forcing the barbarian rebellion into a corner for example. But you can do it sequentially as well, you can overrun the barbarians and then send another hero to grab a key road front the elves
By the way, you guys doesn’t have to answer all the questions. These are mostly to give you different perspectives for when you’re writing :)

I think I've got almost half the content for the next round prepared, I will post it tomorrow or on saturday. Spoiler: no, no dead will rise to fight with my guys :D But I figured that basically, there's a way to turn Uhana into necromant... maybe there will come a time.

So, I draw two cards now, which will be my next challenges, but weaved into the present challenge/adventure?
Aug 5, 2021 11:27 pm
Yes, the new cards will guide you as you continue telling this part of the story. One card for one hero, so you have to "split the party" :)

Perhaps they don't bother each other outside of occasional trade and attendance of representatives on major events. Gareth would encounter them more often, so he is probably familiar with their traditions and language
Forgot about this one 😅
Sounds good to me :) what do you think, snowcrash?
Maybe Gareth is known or has some reputation among the Keiki? Both house are supervised by Lord Gallavant so you would have diplomatic relationship and a shared liege.
Update: I’ll be mostly away from GP until Monday
