Sardonius swings his halberd at the attacking gnoll.

It tries to dodge but makes a step in the wrong direction, right into the path of Sardonius' halberd.
The weapon leaves a nasty gash on the chest of the gnoll. It sway from side to side and is barely able to stand

Melianne yelps as a vine sprouts from the ground and attempts to grab at her ankle, and furiously steps on the malicious plant with her other heel. It is quite an impressive feat of acrobatics, to keep her balance during the brief struggle with the vine, but the dancer not only manages to pull herself free and jump away, but also finds time to yell a few insults at the culprit.

Krenmuth's attack hits the gnoll and it lets out a small yelp as the hammer hits its target. The gnoll is wounded although still capable of fighting.

Korrin's arrow meanwhile misses the human by about two feet and digs itself into the ground.

While Sardonius' attack had hit hard at the gnoll Melianne's words seem to have hit the human.
The human yells at Melianne You play with powers you can't comprehend! I'll teach you a lesson little girl!

Meanwhile the gnoll at Sardonius' and Krenmuth's side attack their adversaries and the gnoll with the longbow changes its target and fires at Krenmuth

Scags and Krenmuth can dodge most attacks but one of the gnolls manages to lodges its teeth into the cleric's arms and doesn't let go for a while.
Eventually Krenmuth can pull his arm free but not without sustaining a nasty gash.

While you battle the gnolls you can hear some screams from the side where Korsak is fighting. While his soldiers hold the front he incinerates a gnoll with a ray of fire.

The surviving workers meanwhile manage to escape the scene and run towards the camp. But you can also hear some battle cries from behind you.
Did the gnolls manage to enter the camp? It seems unlikely as you are all standing your ground against them. A quick glance over your shoulder reveals nothing.... yet.
OOC:

Krenmuth takes 7 damage.
The human fails its saving throw and takes one damage. Sorry for the additional roll an my side. I didn't notice that FlyingSucculent had already rolled for damage.
Annika's up next!

Seeing Krenmuth starting to struggle, Annika charges in to help Scags bring down the gnoll she cursed, so that he might in turn assist his fellow soldier.
OOC:
Move: to G8 (drawing hand crossbow)
Attack: Gnoll at F9 (advantage from faerie fire, extra damage from hex)

I'm not sure how badly hurt the gnoll is, so from here there are two possibilities:

- If the damage from the rapier attack is enough to drop him, Annika will use her bonus action to Hex the other gnoll under the effects of faerie fire (at G11)

- If the gnoll is still standing after the rapier attack, Annika will use her bonus action to shoot him with her hand crossbow. I'll roll the attack for this, but just ignore it if the other outcome is available instead.

"Bite this!!!" Krenmuth's brow furrows in anger. The air crackles, then a bolt of lightning smacks the gnoll that bit him.

I would like to combine this reaction with Channel Divinity: Destructive Wrath to give the gnoll maximum damage.

Krenmuth: HP 17/10
OOC:
I realise that I might have created a confusing situation here: I'm still using the current/total format for Annika's HP, but since she has 8 temporary hit points above her normal maximum I've listed that as 23/15. Would it be clearer if we used a different notation for temporary HP, like HP: 15/15 (+8) or similar?
Sep 2, 2021 5:59 pm
OOC:
Now that I understand the numerator can include temporary HP, I'm good with the way you have it and I'll post that way in the future.

@Scrol, did you forget to move Melianne on the map, or was she unable to move for some reason? Was moving to D6 last turn. :D
Edit: oh, noticed that Korrin also didn't move. Is that intended because it's still the same round? Nevermind then!

Krenmuth's lightning severly hurts the gnoll. It yelps and jolts back from the cleric a bit.
Annika's attack meanwhile is enough to kill the other gnoll. She shifts her hex to the next gnoll.

The human picks up a few pebbles from the ground, yells an incantation in a language you don't understand and flips it at Krenmuth with his fingers.
The pebble takes up speed mid-air, accelerated by magic. Krenmuth hit at the shoulder by the pebble. Even though it's just a small stone it hurts quite a bit

You can act now. The initiative order among PCs doesn't matter, only between PCs and enemies. Sorry if that was unclear

boy archery style is really working out great lol
Korrin moves to G4 and takes aim on the human, not wanting to fire into the group melee and risking hitting his friends.

attack Gnoll on F9
Scags thrusts the pointed end of his halberd to the snarling monster in front of him. As much as he wants to swing his weapon around and decapitate it and others beside it, with this close to Krenmuth it will do more harm than good.

Short economical thrusts. guess I have to practice what I have been preaching all those years, Krenmuth thought as he sported a wolfish grin while waiting for the Gnoll to open up. It didn't take long however as the creature made its unwieldy attack.

Rolls

Attack with Halberd - (1d20+5)

(17) + 5 = 22

Damage if Hit - (1d10+3)

(7) + 3 = 10

OOC:
Gonna make the turn for Melianne as FlyingSucculent is currently busy
Melianne mutters a few words and some of Krenmuth's wounds close.

Then she begins to yell at the human: Ey dumbface! How about you stop hiding behind your pet dogs and face us!

The human holds his head and he makes an angry grimace
OOC:
Yay big healing for Krenmuth! He heals 8 HP
The human takes 2 damage and has disadvantage on the next attack roll

OOC:
The gnoll at F9 was already dead (indicated by the red color). I instead moved Scags next to the gnoll at G11 and attacked that one
Korrin's arrow flies true and would've hit the human in the head but in the last moment he ducked away so that the arrow just nickes his shoulder

Krenmuth and Scags meanwhile work splendidly together and kill off another gnoll while Melianne heals her friends and mocks the human.

The gnolls retaliate. The one next to Krenmuth once again tries to bite him while the one with the bow shoots at Scags

The noise behind the group grows louder. Korrin turns around and from his elevated position sees how Rada, Raskell and the others seem to be fighting.... skeletons? From where are they?
While your friends can keep most of them occupied a few run at your position. At your side Korsak makes progress in fighting back the gnolls. Just a few are left and they seem to be heavily injured.
OOC:

Krenmuth takes 3 damage

HP 9/17. Before deciding Krenmuth's action, I want to see if the gnoll survives.
Sep 18, 2021 9:35 am
Annika's rapier pierces the gnoll's shoulder and it lets out a terrified growl.
The wound bleeds heavily but the gnoll still stands

The human yells some commands in a language you don't understand and hurls one of the rocks it picked up prior at Annika.

The attack misses Annika narrowly
