Taz stood at the edge of where the forest thickened, and looked out into the darkness. Even with her heritage allowing her to see in darkness better than most, it would've been hard to see much in that tangle of dark woods. With the heavy downpour on top of it, it felt like an impossible thing to try and find Leffint tonight.
"I can't shake this bad feeling," she said to Arphaxad, who was looking for tracks nearby. "What if he's hurt?" But he was a hunter accustomed to these woods, and he had a far better chance of navigating them on a night like tonight than their disparate little party did. Reluctantly, she turned around to face the rest of the dripping, sodden party. She shrugged.
"It was worth a look. I suppose we should head back to the inn. As much as I want to check on Leffint, it doesn't seem wise to go traipsing through unfamiliar woods in a storm like this. Especially if there are bad things about." She looked from one to the other, and if the rest were in agreement about turning back, she'd follow them back to the inn.
"We could be the Travelers," she suggested, trying to cheer herself up by toying with names, as though they were a real adventuring troupe. "Since we've all come from different places, and we met while caravaning. Orrrr... the Beguilers, after how Auras sweet-talked the bandits into working with us," she said, with a playful grin towards the human.
