Lambor's Hold

As you all take a rest, you recover and find some new strength in yourselves. Eventually, when the weariness from the battle has worn off and you are already getting ready to get up again, Auras, who has been keeping watch, notices a single blue-skinned fey peek out of the cave entrance.
When she points it out to all of you, it's not hard to guess what it is doing: It's trying to find out if you are still around or have left after the fight. It hasn't noticed you yet.

Taz spots the fey when Auras points them out.

"Shh," she whispers to the party members. "If they don't spot us, maybe they'll come back out and we can ambush them!" She ducks behind a tree, hoping to escape notice while the party deliberated on the next move.

Auras thinks a moment before using her awakened mind ability on her comrades *I want to talk to it see if I can find out the reason for their attack on the village.* with that auras tries to move around and closer to the fey without being seen hoping to communicate with it with giving away hers or her friends positions.

*We've already travelled down that road,* Narissa thinks back at Auras without moving from where she's hidden, *they believe that they have some sort of ancestral claim on the village and they want it back.*

*The more frustrating part is that the villagers have stories about just such a thing but they claim that these guys aren't the Fey they fought.*

Standing up from where he sat quaffing mead from his water skin, the scaled warrior burped loud and clear guffawad a loud HAR! then said loudly to no one in particular, Well, I guess that's that! there are no more of those nasties here we can find! we better move on lads and lassies!

Arphaxad sidled to one of his companions and in a more hushed tone, While we do that, I think we would want to circle back and try to capture this lil' bugger...

Then again, almost bellowing out, WE'RE GOING NOW! WE'RE LEAVING THE PLACE TO GO SOMEWHERE!

As Auras approaches the mine entrance, the fey clearly spots her and turns to run back inside when Arphaxad's loud voice roars out, claiming that your group is leaving. It makes the fey pause for a moment.
OOC:
@mormegil, give me a Persuasion Roll at disadvantage to see if it falls for your bluff.

Auras steps on a branch as she tries to close in on the fey peeking out.

The fey turns towards her and it seems like it's just about to spot her when Arphaxad distracts it with his calls. The fey looks in his direction, seems to think for a moment and then breathes a visible sigh of relief. It really seems to have bought the bluff.

The fey pauses another moment, then walks out of the cave towards the closest of the many dead bodies strewn around the clearing and carries it inside the cave where it will most likely report your departure.

Narissa furrows her brow and looks at Arphaxad, "Did that actually work?"

She shrugs, her tail twitching, "Alright, what now?"
Jan 6, 2022 11:49 pm
Honestly...I have no idea...

We could circle around and try to follow any blue skinned non-goblins to their lair...
Jan 8, 2022 6:18 pm
"Oh, that was brilliant!" Taz chirped, reaching up to pat Arphaxad on the back. At Narissa's question, Taz grinned.

"Now we go in after them! It'll be scary going into their own lair, but we'll have the element of surprise, at least."

After the fey has disappeared into the mine again, you give it a moment and then start sneaking towards the entrance again, moving slowly and carefully as to not make a noise.
You very slowly sneak into the cave, following its slope downwards. You pass a very rugged spot where many large rocks and boulders are lying strewn. This must be where the mine used to be collapsed but is now open again, presumably due to this earthquake you were told about. Eventually, you hear sounds ahead, frantic voices talking in that strange language that they communicate in. There is also a strange, blue glow coming from up ahead.
OOC:
If you want to get any closer, you will have to make a stealth check, either individually or as a group, depending on which of you want to go
Jan 20, 2022 9:31 pm
"If we intend to sneak in, Lathander has granted me the ability to create silence. It might be better to save it if we get into trouble as it can stop the spell caster using certain spells. What do you think?"
Jan 20, 2022 11:10 pm
"I would save it Father." The tiefling says attempting to sneak closer to see if she can make out anything that's being said. "Can anyone understand them?"
OOC:
Narissa can understand - Common, Infernal, Celestial, Abyssal, Sylvan.

I think we already went through everyone's language list. None of you can understand them. But with a... let's say History check, I'll let you try to identify the language at least.

I'll wait with narrating what Narissa sees until I know if anyone else is coming along. And how sneaky they are if they do

Arphaxad doesn't recognize it himself but I assume Belathor shares the information with the group.

Narissa meanwhile scouts ahead of the rest of the group and peeks around the corner to where the voices are coming from. A group of fey are gathered in a small opening in the cave, almost a room. There are glowing mushrooms illuminating the walls and old blankets are strewn about. It looks like a very uncomfortable, improvised sleeping chamber.
The elven woman is with the fey, talking to the one you recognize to be the leader from the surface.
In one corner, there is a large, rectangular object covered by a number of blankets. The shape is that of a box of some sort, large enough for multiple people to easily fit into it.
