I think we can try it again once Timbers has recovered. If he can hold his breath on the last stretch, he might be able to get across a bubble of noxious gas, assuming that's what we're dealing with.

After you pull him up Berry recovers in 1d4 minutes. More prolonged exposure might result in longer-lasting effects.

Dang, we have to find away around this obstacle...

Laurent has two tricks down his sleeves:
- he can bless the three characters, granting a d4 on the CON save; or,
- he can use the portent feature, a diviner power, and make sure that one person he sees can take a high roll for his save.

Is the canary dead, or unconscious?

Thanks for reaching out to us Peindora. Hoping things get back to a more relaxed pace for you soon. Take care of yourself in the meantime!

Don't worry, nothing catastrophic happening here 😆 simply between work and family I don't get much time for personal hobbies ;)

How are things going for you, Peindora? Is this a "for the next little while" kind of thing, or a more permanent change in your life that will reduce your gaming schedule for the foresable future?

Not permanent change, but occasional. Sometimes I manage to get more free time than other times. I've freed myself a little for now.

I'm not sure bringing Maude below with us was a good idea.

No worries; I think that has been true for everyone in this game at some point, including the DMs :) Glad you're finding some spare time these days, and always happy to have you in our game.

Jabes.plays.RPG says:
OOC:
Laurent might have cast Guidance on Tilma, potentially converting that into a success.

There's also an opportunity here to use one of Laurent's portent rolls. Or save it in case something else goes wrong down the road.

It's @matmaisan's call.
Sorry, work has allowed me little time for reactions. I would've cast guidnace if possible, but I don't think retconning is required, or would be proper.

Also, Laurent mentioned wanting to prepare a system that would allow folks from downstair to use a rope to pull someone up. Design is simple : pick one of the three ropes dangling down the hole and pull it up. With this rope, you knot a solid loop (this will work as a primitive pulley on the upper area). Our rope — or if necessary, a couple of ropes — we pass through this loop, and then send both ends of the rope (now hanging from this loop) down to the lower area. When we need to move back up, we'll tie one end of the rope to the person being moved up, while the other two of us pull on the other end of the rope, thereby lifting the other person. That way that person can focus on holding their breath, while the other two do the effort of pulling the weight.

We can say you took the time to set this up before descending. Great idea!

Sorry about my absence. I might be able to carve out some time later today. Will do my best.

Take your time Jabes, we're not going anywhere!

I apologize for my latest unexpected and extended absence! We had a sudden death in the family. My cousin worked a farm way out in the countryside so we've been off-grid the past week or so to be with his wife and kids.

I'll do my best to get caught up with my games as soon as I can. Thanks!

Very sorry for your loss Jabes. Take whatever time you need to grieve. We'll be here when you're ready to resume the game.

Sorry for your loss. And don't worry, we're in no hurry;)
