The twisting tunnel widens and turns west, and is soon joined by a swiftly flowing underground stream of stinky water. You eventually emerge into a cavern lit by glowing fungi. The stream flows onto a rock shelf and over the edge into a pool about forty feet below. As you emerge from the tunnel and onto the shelf, the mind-whispers assail you with more urgency.
I was under the impression that we are on an elevated platform of sorts. Did I misread it? (English isn't my first language so it is possible)

Sorry, looks like I'm the one who read that wrong. Such are the dangers of having another DM step in mid-adventure, I suppose. In my haste to keep the ball rolling, I passed over this significant detail. How do people want proceed?

Option 1: Retcon the shelf to be on the pool's edge rather than 40ft above it.

Option 2: The shelf stays at 40ft above the pool and we retcon the combat. It would be suicide for the fishmen to try to climb a cliff to attack, so perhaps they try to communicate instead. Laurent can reconsider casting his spells.

If you have a third option to suggest, tell us about it bellow.

How shall we handle this? Public

Option 1.
Option 2
I have another suggestion.

I for the case would say option 2 cause Tilma was pretty content with her sniping spot 😉 and intentionally didn't descend to keep the high ground.

Still, I don't mind the first option either. I'm ready to handle them their share if needed.

Ultimately we need to get down there, if that’s where the thing we seek is, but I’m happy with whatever the gm decides

I totally missed that aspect of the description. It seems easier to return to just before combat and see where we can go from there. I’ll un cast the spells but still try to speak to the fish-men.

So sorry, folks! The confusion is ultimately my fault for dropping the ball. Thanks, DM Len, for saving my ass! XD

Haha, no, it was my reading comprehension (or lacking of) that made a mess of things :) But it's not that messy.

Hey folks, I keep telling myself I will find time and energy to update the game soon, but a lot of time has accumulated, and the silence has gained momentum. I don't think it's fair to keep people waiting, so I'm putting the game on hold until we get our shit together. Thanks for your understanding.

Hey folks, happy new year :)

After taking stock in the New Year, I've decided to step away from DMing this game. I'm not sure when Jabes will return or what his plans are, so feel free to wait for his return to see what he wants to do.

Thanks for your involvement, I hope you enjoyed yourselves while it lasted. Jabes and I certainly enjoyed your methodical style of play and your skilful role play. When we started this game as an introduction for players new to 5e or PbP, we both knew we didn't have time to run this game alone, so we teamed up to try to bring an introductory adventure for folks. As it turns out, we were right - we aren't able to run it solo.

I hope to see you around on the forums and look forward to playing with you again one day :)

Thanks for all you've done for us :) without you I may not have been here.

See you around

A happy new year to you all. I’m sad we won’t be gaming in the foreseeable future with you in Iskandar, Len. Thanks so much to you and Jabes for the opportunity and for the excellent game you’ve run for us. Thanks also to Peindora and Knifesedge for taking me in and sharing this great experience. I’ll be around if Jabes returns, since this is one of the only three games I’m currently in. If Jabes decides not to continue, I’ll have tonnes of questions about what you guys had in store for us! :-D

Thanks again, and happy gaming to all of you!
