Watching the Displacer run off Karma turns and makes his way back to the camp, "Yo Gerbo you up? Sweet, that Really negative cat and tentacles thing has been hanging around. He’s a little burnt not and ran off in that direction," The shaggy Dwarf points it out, "But man am I pooped dude. Wake me if you have too."

Karma then curls up on the ground snuggling up to a tree and pulls a blanket over himself, a few seconds later you hear snoring.

"Oh good, I don't think I could.go back to sleep knowing how close that beast was. Let alone stay up by my self." Belanor will engage Gerbo in some casual conversation.

"Casual conversation": a phrase which here means a fairly one-sided conversation where Gerbo's main contributions are grunts and snorts until his tea kicks in.

Gerbo and Belanor chat until the sun starts to peek above the horizon, the early morning hours passing by without incident. Breaking camp is a quick affair and it isn't long before you're on the move along the western edge of the Neverwinter Wood.

The morning's travel is pleasant enough with a cool, gentle breeze from the coast waving through the tall grass and the bright sun shining overhead. By mid-afternoon, however, the weather starts to change. Clouds start to roll in and rain starts to fall; slowly at first, but as you're nearing your destination, the heavens open up.

Trudging through the increasingly muddy fields you come upon a barely noticeable trail which gradually becomes an old, overgrown lane winding between dilapidated buildings choked in vines and brush. Ahead of you, in the middle of the settlement, rises a steep hill, upon which stands a stone tower with a partially collapsed roof and an adjoining cottage. A dirt road hugs the base of the hill and wends its way between old stone houses, many of which are roofless ruins with interiors open to the
weather. Other buildings appear more or less intact. The whole place is eerily silent.

A wooden sign is nailed to a post nearby. It reads:

"DANGER! Plant monsters AND zombies! Turn back now!"

Just underneath the sign, shivering wet, is a small grey squirrel. Surprised by your presence the furry creature tries to make a break for it, but can only manage to limp about a foot before coming to rest in a puddle.

Upon seeing the squirrel Karma’s eyes get puppy dog big and a calm tone fills his voice, "Hey little furry dude no need to be afraid we mean you no harm, can I help you or assist in some manner?"

Man I'm glad I got that extra set of traveling clothes. I'm going to need a good steamy bath when this all over.

Seeing the signs that say zombi and plant creatures. "She uh, said her friend would be on the outskirts right? Like I'm not sure if it's a good idea to go in there. What if the guy is a zo.bie and this post is about him?" Belanor stammers out.

Karma's approach spooks the fury creature, who manages to struggle out of the puddle and into some nearby brush, chittering in alarm as it does. Once the Cleric speaks, however, the little grey squirrel calms down and slowly emerges from cover.

Kerisha wakes from her rest and wonders if the beast is still watching. When Karma explains what happened, Kerisha is shocked. She is frustrated that she could not communicate with it at the time, but for the beast to continue to attack, it disturbed her.

She is quiet as the group move on towards the ruins, reflecting on what she could have done for the beast. Kerisha is then in awe at seeing Karma speak to the terrified little squirrel. He is a master of nature. One that she must learn from.

"How did you do that? Did not work with beast."
Sep 30, 2021 11:24 am
Karma smiles behind his scruff bread as the Squirrel reappears on from the bushes, "Sorry for scaring you little furry dude, that’s negative juju on my part. We are seeking a Druid type dude you seen any around?"

Karma looks up a Kerisha with a raised eyebrow and points towards the Squirrel, "I don’t want to be rude to my little nature dude right now, so I’ll explain later."

He then turns back to the Squirrel, "Sorry she gets a little excited around nature. Where was I . . . Oh yeah Druid Dude and what could kill us?"

Gerbo raises an eyebrow at the chattering between Karma and the squirrel and walks over to a bush to relieve himself.

The squirrel cocks its head to the side as it listens to Karma and chirps a response...

Catching a glimpse of the Gnome urinating onto a bush the creature chirps in protest, its tail twitching violently from side to side.

Karma turns to Gerbo, "Not cool dude, that is someone home!" He then turns to the Squirrel, "My name is Karma and my friends and I were told by Qelline, a Halfling dudette, to find a Druid by the name of Reidoth. We were lead to believe he may have the righteous mojo to help us fight some negative juju posed to attack these lands."
Oct 1, 2021 10:22 pm
The squirrel's tail starts to excitedly twitch as soon as he hears Qelline's name mentioned. It runs a circle around Karma and then races along the path towards a small house. There's a faint *pop* and what was a small grey squirrel is replaced with a gaunt, white bearded human.

The man is wearing simple burlap clothes and is standing at the front door of what appears to be the only habitable building in the area. The door is reinforced with heavy iron bands, and thick shutters protect the windows.

"Any friends of Qelline are friends of mine. It would be best if we all talked inside."

The man opens the door and motions for you all to enter.

Gerbo hikes his pants back up and stops mid-eyeroll when the man appears from the squirrel. He manages to close his mouth, but fails to contain his surprise as he moves into the building.

"Woah! That's a thing!" Belanor let's out. "So long it's safe from those zombie plants I'm going."

Belanor skitters, with his new walking stick in hand, quickly towards the man squirrel.

As the squirrel sizes her up, Kerisha crouches down and offers a fist bump to the little thing, along with her usual toothy smile.

When the creature turns into a man, her expression changes to an open mouthed look of pure shock and confusion. She follows the man inside, who is clearly a friend of Qelline, but her expression doesn't change.
Oct 3, 2021 11:11 am
Not to surprised at a squirrel turning into a man Karma just shrugs his shoulders and follows the Druid, "Sweet trick dude, sweet!"
Oct 3, 2021 7:27 pm
Once everyone has entered the dimly lit building the man follows, closing and latching the door locked behind him.

"It isn't safe to be here." he says as he gathers a boiling pot from a an old iron stove.

"The ruins of Thundertree are infested with Twig Blights and there are several large spiders just to the south of the hill leading up to the tower which now houses a Green Dragon. It wasn't long after its appearance that masked, robbed individuals appeared on the eastern edge. Why they are here I have yet to determine."

The man walks to each of you in turn and offers some tea.

"However, none of that is your concern, as I doubt our mutual friend has sent you here to deal with these troubles."

He takes a seat on a rickety old chair, blows across the top of his cup, and takes a sip.

"I am the one you seek. Reidoth, humble servant of the Emerald Enclave. How may I help?"

At the mention of the Emerald Enclave, Kerisha swiftly places a fist over her heart and bows her head. She reveals the groups symbol that she had managed to transfer from her previous armor.

"Sir Reidoth. If require help, I offer my sword"

Spiders, cultists and a dragon. Think of the trophies she could get for killing them. Surely then her old tribe would see how strong she is.
