I think it is super easy that George and Em stay in touch, maybe even weekly letters with a hidden code to get past Colonel Klink.

But would you like more regular mail-contact with the others too? Maybe George cajoles the others to write more, or tries to get the others (Andy and Jaden any way) to write notes he can include.

I actually think it works best if it's only Georgie that Em stayed in close contact with. But I don't have an ideal outcome in mind, really. I just need to know in my head before I start posting as Em whether these are some folks she hasn't communicated with in several years, or if they have somehow remained in close contact -- letters being the obvious way. I mean they're kids -- easy enough to imagine a couple of letters go back and forth but then there's longer between each one, and then they stop.
