Welcome to the community, solemn_one. As others have pointed out, you'll have no trouble with DCC and the Zocchi dice on GP -- should work great. There are a few people here who know, have played, and like DCC I should note!

Cool. From one DCC fan to another, hello! :)

It's not my very favorite system (I tend to like lighter-weight, newer OSR systems for my old-school adventuring), but I surely love funnels, the magic system, mighty feats, and allllll those amazing modules...

Loads of modules.

That's fair. The lighter OSR systems are fun and probably easier to manage online.

Are you planning to run a game, or perhaps find one to play in?

I would like to do both actually. I'm working on setting up a DCC forum right now.

Nice. I once ran Portal Beneath the Stars for a couple of friends I gamed with 25 years prior. They both ran four PCs at a time, and I think the headcount was somewhere in the 10-12 range. Couple of years later, we're still playing that game! (Though after the funnel, when they chose their long-term PCs, I switched the game to The Black Hack, one of my favorites.)

Very nice. I love the "zero to adventurer" design baked right into DCC. Why the switch to TBH?

Mainly because I love TBH, and I found some bits of DCC fiddly and not to my tastes. I've since played it a little more and gotten over some of that, but in general I err towards simpler games with fairly unified mechanics. The dice chain doesn't do a ton for me in DCC, though part of that is that I've never found a set of physical DCC dice that I really like.

I see. I've played a few of the lighter games, but I haven't played TBH >> I've heard good things though! I saw, in another person's thread here mention of Knave and a few games like that. I like those and have enjoyed a few indie RPG games from itch.io that are relatively light.

Knave is about the only OSR game I would really want to play. All the other had too many weird edges.

'OSR' and 'rules lite' are not synonyms, though.

Far from it, in fact -- hopefully we weren't leading people to believe they were. I was simply saying I liked the lighter-weight, next-gen OSR games.
