Once he was safe on the exit ledge, it took Raine a moment to recover from his near death experience. Once he did, he realized that Slye was on the third platform with a length of rope.

"Here! Toss me your rope!", he called out to Slye. "I'll try to find a spot to tie it off!'
Nov 11, 2021 10:53 pm
Looking to Raine, Slye nods in agreement. Grabbing the rope he keeps one end for himself and tosses the other across to Raine.
OOC:
What should I roll here, if anything..? He is going to keep one end and just try and toss the other end to Raine.

OOC:
The toss doesn't require a roll. The rope is long enough to reach all the way back to the entrance. With the rope held at the exit, any who slip while trying to cross may make a second save to keep from falling (3 possible checks in all)

Slinky had sights on the far side from the start but stalled seeing so many swallowed by the darkness below. His hesitation caused him near panic; a feeling he hasn’t felt since youth. Gritting teeth, he traversed the pipe then swung for the last outcropping.

(7) + 1 = 8

Last leap of faith - (1d20+1)

Gratefully grabbing the rope laid out by the other lads, Wil tries to make up for his wobbly legs.

unless I miscalculated, Wil slips into anticipated oblivion

Will is safe on the second outcropping (first leap failed, second roll on that same post succeeded, the third roll for the rope was excess ;)

Slinky is safe on the third outcropping, just has to leap to the exit DC10 Dex or Str

OOC:
I have Undor, Ilya, Ostarghi, Will Wheatson, and Felf on the entry platform,

Frito must make a DC10 Str or Dex check to land on the first outcropping,

Will Wheaton on the second outcropping,

Andreas, Slye, and Slinky on the third and final outcropping,

Raine at the exit

OOC:
I can't believe we have two characters named after Wil Wheaton by coincidence haha. Also, damn this is like the stepping stones games in Squid Game for the number of deaths. I edited my post with Frito's check and he succeeded. DCC uses Agility instead of Dexterity I found out lol.
Frito Bandito

Frito smiles with how effortlessly he swung across on the net. Sure many people fell to their death, but that he was sure he wouldn't meet the same fate, for he was Frito Bandito, master halfling! He shimmies onto the pipe, heading towards the second platform.

Felf Crestfall

"Good job, Frito! We are coming. Ready Will? I'll go first." She leaps across.

Will Wheatson

Will watches to see Felf swing across then makes his way across.

Frito Bandito

Frito's cockiness may be his undoing! His hands start to slip and he scrabbled desperately to hang on! Thankfully he recovers and quickly shimmies over to the second platform!

I laughed for days about two Wheaton tributes. Westley Crusher would be honored.

After the rope was secured Slye makes an attempt to cross to the exit!

"I hope it is secure enough. Here I come!" He gives Raine a shout as his small halfling self tries to make way across the gap.
OOC:
If he makes it then he will wait at the exit and ensure that everyone else makes it across before untying and reclaiming the rope.

The trio makes their way to their next respective platforms. Frito makes a running jump for the chain between the second and third platforms, while Felf and Will use the pipe to move on to the second. All three make it safely and breathe a sigh of relief. Their nerves and muscles are on fire with fear and exertion.
OOC:
I don't want to jinx myself, but I'm in love with this dice roller suddenly lol. My favorite part of funnels is how quickly you bond with your characters and don't want them to die.

Seeing the others drop like flies (or anchors, more likely) sends shivers down Undor and Ilva's spine, before their gaze shifts back to the cats to check they're still busy with their meal.

Ostarghi is a bit more practical and straps the makeshift shield to his back, before attempting to brave the first gap.
OOC:
Yeah I too got Squid Game flashbacks with this. Quite a murderous obstacle course. I'm including the check and both saves in a single roll for brevity's sake.

Rolls

Ostarghi's rolls for first ledge - (1d20+1, 1d20+1, 1d20+1)

1d20+1 : (11) + 1 = 12

1d20+1 : (4) + 1 = 5

1d20+1 : (8) + 1 = 9

Seeing Ostarghi make it across apparently snaps Undor and Ilva out of their daydreaming and they too try to move forward. Meanwhile, with space cleared ahead, Ostarghi attempts to make it to the second ledge.

Rolls

Undor moving to Ledge 1 - (1d20+1, 1d20+1, 1d20+1)

1d20+1 : (12) + 1 = 13

1d20+1 : (9) + 1 = 10

1d20+1 : (16) + 1 = 17

Ilva moving to Ledge 1 - (1d20+1, 1d20+1, 1d20+1)

1d20+1 : (10) + 1 = 11

1d20+1 : (14) + 1 = 15

1d20+1 : (7) + 1 = 8

Ostarghi moving to Ledge 2 - (1d20+1, 1d20+1, 1d20+1)

1d20+1 : (1) + 1 = 2

1d20+1 : (11) + 1 = 12

1d20+1 : (5) + 1 = 6

Nov 12, 2021 7:59 am
The trio advances, before an ill-timed jump from Ostarghi almost sends him to join the others below. Grabbing the rope at the last moment, he manages to hold on and steels himself for the final jump as the other two move on.

Rolls

Ostarghi's rolls for third ledge - (1d20+1, 1d20+1, 1d20+1)

1d20+1 : (18) + 1 = 19

1d20+1 : (20) + 1 = 21

1d20+1 : (3) + 1 = 4

Ilva moving to Ledge 2 - (1d20+1, 1d20+1, 1d20+1)

1d20+1 : (15) + 1 = 16

1d20+1 : (7) + 1 = 8

1d20+1 : (15) + 1 = 16

Undor moving to Ledge 3 - (1d20+1, 1d20+1, 1d20+1)

1d20+1 : (11) + 1 = 12

1d20+1 : (18) + 1 = 19

1d20+1 : (8) + 1 = 9

Things have gone well thus far, so Undor and Ilva draw a breath, then hop across the final gap.

Rolls

Undor moving to Ledge 3 - (1d20+1, 1d20+1, 1d20+1)

1d20+1 : (10) + 1 = 11

1d20+1 : (13) + 1 = 14

Ilva moving to Ledge 3 - (1d20+1, 1d20+1, 1d20+1)

1d20+1 : (9) + 1 = 10
