As the door swings open the sounds of a heated conversation flow into the hallway. A deep, growling voice demands some sort of payment, and someone with a silky smooth voice replies that payment is not going to happen.

Peering in, Gerbo sees that the room has been set up as a crude living space, with thick furs thrown on the floor to serve as carpets, old trophies hanging on the walls, a large bed to the north, and a brazier of coals burning brightly. A round table with several chairs stands to the south near the door. Near the table, on the floor, is an unconscious dwarf who looks badly beaten.

Before the rogue can ascertain any more details he catches something out of the corner of his eye. Rushing towards him is a rather large wolf, teeth bared, ready to fight! The wolf's snarling catches the attention of the other two occupants who each reach for their weapons.

Gerbo whirls to face the wolf, letting off a shot from his hand crossbow at the wolf, falling backwards out of the doorway as he does it to fall back behind his more burly friends.
OOC:
Fire, then disengage if needed (not sure if the wolf is close enough or not to get an opportunity attack otherwise) and retreat behind Kerisha.

The crossbow bolt clips the wolf's ear before plunging deep into its muscled back right between the shoulder blades. It lets out a painful yelp as it runs through the door after the cowardly rogue, only to find Kerisha standing in the way. Bloodied but determined, it lunges, mouth open, at the barbarian who is easily able to swat it jaws to the side.

Seeing the commotion, the Drow quickly moves towards the unconscious dwarf.

"I'll take care of him, you call the others!" she calls out to the bugbear who let's out a deep chuckle while reaching for a huge mace. In a deep, low voice he yells out.

OOC:
one of us should take care of the wolf first, preferably not Kerisha, so Kerisha can engage the Dark Elf.
Dec 9, 2021 3:31 pm
OOC:
are we stacked on the door or is there room for ranged attacks/ multiple engagement?
Dec 9, 2021 4:08 pm
OOC:
Gerbo is the only one I had close to the door. He would have seen the bugbear and drow when he opened the door. Everyone has seen the wolf. Right now the door is open and I have no one standing by it. Someone could run up, fire, and move back. Rushing through to engage is also a possibility.
Dec 9, 2021 5:08 pm
OOC:
take, no Belanor isn't that chilverous. He will however set things ablaze.

Since I don't know there's others than an attacking wolf fire bolt it be.
"Ah!" Belanor gasps almost falling to the ground.
Crouched and picking himself up he let's out the established fore bolt!

Belanor's bolt of fire just misses the wolf, singeing some of the fur on the animal as it wizzes by.

OOC:
Since Kerisha is engaged with the wolf she would try to take it out first. Could Karma or Gerbo slip past to get to the Drow, especially as Gerbo has seen who is inside the room?
With Gerbo retreating behind her, like a little cub, Kerisha finds that mama bear inside her. The rage builds and she stands strong between the gnome and the wolf. She plunges her blade down towards the snarling beast.
OOC:
Bonus action rage
Then attack wolf

I mean If Belanor knew there were more he probably would have casted sleep forgoing the meta knowledge. If we dispatch the wolf quickly, I think kerisha would be the better offense to the drow

Kerisha's blade severs the wolf's spine, putting a quick end to its attack.

As the wolf collapses to the floor a little sadness hits Karma’s heart, he hates it when innocent creatures are used for evil. Karma steps into the room, and slightly to the right so not to block the door, an angry welling in his soul. His hand raises and the negative energy rushes forward at the Drow.

Entering the room Karma catches the first glimpse of the downed dwarf. It's Gundren! The shock of seeing his uncle laying beaten and unconscious on the floor is enough to throw of his attack, and the Drow doesn't even notice the incoming beam of radiant light as it smashes into the far wall.

Unfortunately the Cleric's entrance has been noticed by the giant bugbear. The beast takes a wide swing with it's mace, which Karma easily deflects with his shield.

Those outside of the room start to hear the sounds of weapons being gathered from the other side of the curtain to the south...

After quickly firing off a bolt which sails well wide if its intended target, Gerbo darts back to safety, none of his foes any of the wiser.

The Drow's focus remains clearly on the fallen Gundren, who she kneels besides before pulling his limp body into a sitting position. Slowly drawing a dagger from a scabbard on her thigh, she smiles at Karma.

"Come to watch a fellow dwarf die?"

Feeling bad for dispatching the wolf so harshly, but knowing that in nature only the fittest survive, she takes off towards the room. Seeing Karma taking care of the bugbear and the Drow standing over the other dwarf, she charges straight at the drow trying to use her size and weight to her advantage.
OOC:
Trying to run and shove the drow away from the Gundren - potentially with advantage for being a half-orc battering ram on the run? pretty please DM?
