Chapter 1: Making Introductions

Alan quickly wraps a rope around the arms of the vine creature, who seems to sit reasonably still during the process, just dropping its head low at Alan's statement, saying nothing further.

Across the room, the group zeroes in on the remaining viney enemies, with Radiza starting the assault on the creature she faces alone, jamming her blade deep into its back, causing it to stick clear out through its chest. Radiza, you have a strong feeling that the only reason this didn't kill it outright is that it must possess a non-human anatomy. Meanwhile, Claudius hits the creature nearest to Esal with another stone, causing it to stagger slightly. Thankfully for Esal, slightly is all he needed to take out his frustrations at missing before by taking a swift slash at the creature's neck, sending its head rolling across the floor! Milaki looses an arrow at the creature that Radiza skewered, but barely misses!

The creature tries to swing an elbow into Radiza's head, but the tabixi is able to easily bend out of the way. It looks really bad, however, with a thick green sap-like fluid oozing out of the vines that make up its torso.

Barek gestures at the creature skewered on Radiza's blade. From somewhere in the distance a bell tolls, and dark energy swirls around it.
OOC:
Toll the Dead. Creature 2 must make a DC13 Wisdom save or take 11 necrotic damage.

Radiza only needed.. no.. wanted one prisoner to ask questions. The blade she held was thrust straight through the still struggling and fighting creature she had no wish to spare. Tough, like a plant. It's true that you have to cut a tree down, not simply pierce it. So she turned her sword in the wound and ripped it free though its side without hesitation and the disregard for life that came only to those who had killed many times in war..
OOC:
Attack 14, damage 5.

Claudius chucks another stone at the vine creatures, sending it sailing wide. However, the dolorous ringing of a spectral bell coupled with the violent swordplay of both Radiza and Esal ends the life of the last standing creature. Coldly, Milaki sends an arrow through the eye of the bound creature, causing it to stiffen momentarily before slumping lifelessly to the ground. Less than a minute later, the entangling vines across the ground rapidly wither and crumble away into a fine dust.

Combat Over.

As the creature in front of her crumpled to die the Tabaxi turned back to the enemy she had left alive, only to find it on the ground as well and an arrow sticking from it. Her gaze immediately went to the halfling with the bow. Taking her along was clearly a mistake. She approached the pink-haired menace and flicked her sword to clear it of most of the sap sticking to it.
"You got a problem with us getting some answers there shortstuff? Alright, you tell us who those people are." She indicated the rotting bodies laying about with her blade.

OOC:
@millyk - are you aware that your PC just murdered creature who never attacked anyone and did surrender immediately ?

As a player I am against PCs casting spells like Detect Thoughts on each other, so please only proceed with answering this if you as a player want to do that. I really hope this spell could this time help to reduce tension not the other way round
Since Claudius were still concentrating on his spell he chose Milaki and read her mind the next moment after she kills the creature who surrender.
[ +- ] Detect Thoughts (Feat) (Wis)
OOC:
So again, millyk if you don't want as a player we could assume Claudius did that with no consequences, but if you wish you could
1) explain me the surface thoughts of your PC --what is most on its mind in that moment.
2) make a Wisdom saving throw DC 13. If it fails, give me "insight into its reasoning (if any), its emotional state, and something that looms large in its mind (such as something it worries over, loves, or hates).
Note: Either way your PC knows that Claudius is probing into your PC mind.
Claudius also says aloud: "Excuse me Milaki, I will try to read your mind to help you with your mental problems. Just a medical purpose."
Mar 13, 2022 8:33 am
After seeing this Alan becomes furious, how dare she kill a willing prisoner, has she any sense in her or do local bandits lack any in the first place?

He walks over Milaki, grabbing his belongings on the way, speaking loudly enough for everyone to hear. Listen, what you did right now is beyond stupid, you killed a creature that had no ill intent, gave up and allowed itself to be tied up, i guess that you are used to act like a rabid dogs and kill everyone and everything in sight wherever you're from. Either you get your game together or get out.
A weed needs to be plucked when it's small and doesn't cause many problems or as soon as it's noticed. The many years during his service has taught him that well. After all if this is left to grow both he and Radiza could most definitely wait for a stab in the back during the recent nights.

This is getting out of hand thinks Esal
"Calm down Alan. Milaki made a mistake I agree I am sure she sees that now. If we don't stick together we will not get far on our travels"

Barek sits on the floor, and begins tending to his wounds. He looks to Milaki. Not sure what your intentions are here lass. I know we were in a deadly fight, but there's no cause to be attacking a helpless creature.
Mar 14, 2022 4:49 am
Milaki looks the overeaction of others and says: "Oh well, it was just a monster, I am sure... you would not be able to speak with it either way'' and then she turns to Claudius " Can you stop with the mind tricks, whaterver you want to know, you can ask me!''

Rolls

Wisdom save - (1d20+1)

(13) + 1 = 14

Mar 14, 2022 7:32 am
Milaki, I you want to pretend now you did not hear the creature talking to us in a perfect common I have only one question to ask: would you please give me back my hunting trap?
Claudius get close to the dead creature, knee in front of the body (or if body turned into dust then just to the place it were before) and whispers to the dead creature as if it could hear him:
I'm so sorry. We were tasked to hunt orcs but came to your house and killed your kind who just try to protect the home. Such as humanoids, they believe to be the rules of the nature.
He takes out A bottle of black ink, a quill and a piece of paper to document information about the creatures they killed and probably could categorise that knowledge into the existing knowledge..

Rolls

Nature - (1d20+4)

(5) + 4 = 9

Esal, are you sure that there's no room for concern? I for one don't want someone that chooses to ignore well seen evidence of sentience anywhere near me. I have seen people like that stab others in the back too many times when the unit was faced with a tricky situation, especially if the easiest way out was to leave someone behind in a form of unwilling sacrifice. after hearing the answer Alan turns to the elf with a lifted brow. His expression saying Really? Do you still think that i need to calm down?

Esal turns to Alan with a grim look on his face and says making sure Milaki can here. "I hope that now our views have been made clear there will be no more actions against defenceless creatures and that we can continue as a unit. If such a thing happens again that will be different"
