Ilori Stormwind and Dalaran
Ilori's dagger misses both goblins but punches a hole in the barrel that makes up most of the vehicle's chassis. Venia notices that it starts leaking gasoline and swerves away, but the goblin on the back isn't quite so observant. He lights one of his grenades and the vehicle immediately goes up in a fireball, taking both goblins with it.
OOC:
Burney #2 is out!
The remaining two attackers move in on the cart's position. The first lobs another one of the grenades at Dalaran, the other aiming its rifle at Ilori.
OOC:
Okay, neither of those hit! Dalaran, you're up!

Grevvn
She takes the sword in the leg(though it doesn't seem to hurt her as much as it should), but easily blocks your kick.
"Alright, I'm done screwing around." She takes a swipe at you, her claws aimed right at your leg.

OOC:
Oops sorry just realised I misread the last bit of James' last post. Should have just gone with him instead of heading to the mess.
After grabbing a quick breakfast Finneas picks up his adventuring gear once again and heads off to the arena. Once there, he pokes around a bit, looking for James.

Harsh laughter escapes my lips as I find my second wind. Is that the best you can do child? Let me show you how it's really done. I lunge forward with a bellow of rage I leap in the air both feet slamming towards her chest one foot after the other.

OOC:
It's been a week IRL since my last post. Gonna assume after looking around for James I don't find him.
Finneas doesn't see James anywhere in the arena. Perhaps he's still rounding up people to help with the expedition. Finneas heads back out the arena and finds a quiet spot close to the entrance where he'll be able to see James when he arrives. He lights his pipe again and lifts it to his lips and inhales deeply. Just then, he remembers the mysterious disc he'd been examining that morning. He'd brought it with him. Furrowing his brows, he takes the disc out of his pocket, and scrutinises it once again, tilting it from side to side and letting the strange green sand flow from end to end. The sand seems to sparkle in the sunlight.
OOC:
Again, does Finneas recall having seen such sparking green sand previously? Do any hidden details on the disc reveal themselves on closer examination this time?

Rolls

Investigation check - (1d20)

(14) = 14

Ilori Stormwind and Dalaran
Ilori's dagger fails to connect, but between the goblins' retreat and Venia leading the lizards in the opposite direction, it isn't long before your group is well out of the range of their weapons. The cart comes to a stop a few minutes later, once the goblins have disappeared over the horizon.

"Well, that was exciting."

Finneas
You've never seen anything quite like the sand before, but you do find five rotary switches spaced evenly along one side of the disc, as well as a cable that looks like it might be able to hook the device up to your radio.
Jul 5, 2016 11:10 pm
"That is one way of putting it... Looks like I will need to purchase some new weapons the next chance I get."

"Perhaps not my friend. We have yet to search the wrecks, let's see what there is."
Dalaran walks over to the flaming wreck and begins to pick around its mangled metal, apparently unconcerned with the heat.

Rolls

Investigating the wrecks - (1d20+4)

(12) + 4 = 16

Jul 6, 2016 12:25 am
Finneas is simultaneously intrigued by the sudden realisation and annoyed at himself for not having noticed this back in his apartment. He looks around and sees a box of crates next to a wall by a quiet corner of the building and heads towards it. He places the disc down on it and removes his radio and a small screwdriver from his backpack. He's about to unwind the cable from the disc and hook it up to his radio when he momentarily wavers. He has no idea what this device does. What if it damages his precious radio? He does have a spare back in his apartment, but it's not quite as portable as this one, and might take a bit of fixing before it'll work. Finneas frowns, but makes up his mind, connects the cable to his radio, and cautiously switches it on.

I feel something crack in my chest and I go down. A stunned expression on my face before I lose consciousness
OOC:
i am in the negatives now, death save begins, right?

Just checking in to see what progress has occurred...
Jul 15, 2016 2:14 pm
Ilori and Dalaran
You manage to scavenge Ilori's dagger, or at least what's left of it, as well as the charred remains of the goblin's satchel containing five of those metal orbs.
OOC:
Call them what you like, but to use these, make a ranged attack roll against your target. On a hit they deal 1d10 fire damage.
Finneas
There's a loud buzzing noise when you switch the device on as the sand inside starts to vibrate. Through the radio itself you can hear a few snippets of other transmissions, but nothing from the disc itself. It's possible that since you'd never seen anything like it before, that simply no one around here has the technology to transmit to it yet.

Grevvn
As soon as you go down, the resident medic for these pits drops down next to you and starts tending to your injuries as some of the spectators start vacating the area, wrapping up the wounds and slipping a few painkillers into your mouth.
OOC:
Heal 7 HP.
Meanwhile, your opponent is being pulled up out of the pit by a group of her fans, who are about to leave for some sort of celebration of her victory.
Jul 16, 2016 11:08 am
Finneas frowns. He considers the device for a while, before giving up and unplugging it, returning it to his pocket. He also returns his radio to his backpack. He then turns and walks back to the entrance to the arena to see if James has arrived.
OOC:
To save a bit of time between replies, perhaps I can propose a conditional action? If you decide not to allow this, then just ignore it. It's fine. If James isn't around yet, Finneas instead considers whether he knows anybody living here in the facility who also experience scavenging, or who might have a better knowledge of electronics than he does. He might then looking for that person, instead of waiting here for James.
Jul 16, 2016 11:21 pm
Presenting the destroyed dagger to Ilori, "I think this is yours. In its state it is useless. I can repair it?"
OOC:
dalaran waits for your response before continuing to the issue of the spheres
Jul 17, 2016 12:35 am
OOC:
Finneas: James said he was headed to the fighting pits to get some people for this run. If you don't wanna go there, sure, roll an Investigation check with whatever ability score makes sense to you. If you get a 14 or higher, you do in fact know a guy who might know something about this.

Dalaran/Ilori: the dagger is still usable, but until it can be repaired I am counting it as an improvised weapon, meaning for now it loses its finesse property and you are probably not proficient with it.
Jul 17, 2016 1:01 am
James stands against a railing towards the back of the room and watches Grevvn hit the floor with a thud as the fight reaches its conclusion. "Well, I can't pretend that was unexpected." He gathers his pack and hops over the railing to the rest of the seats as Winona is being hoisted up into the crowd.

After wading through the mass of people, James finally gets to the smaller human. "Winnie! You look as striking as always! Another well earned victory." He starts to insistently guide her out of the crowd. "Alright, pleasantries over. We got a job."
