[Gameplay] 2. The House of Pentheru

The paladin lifts the weapon, standing. He tests its weight in his hands and lets out an audible sound of being impressed. "This is a fine weapon," he says, "I think it would do wonders if we run up against any more of those metal snakes. Unless any of you wish to make use of this thing, I'll be happy to put it to use against the right foe."

If they agree, he walks out to the yard and makes several practice swings with the weapon.

"Robbers, or... someone isn't telling us everything," Iseret says suspiciously. "Isn't it just possible that someone trapped them in here intentionally?"

OOC:

Adamantine weapons are automatically masterwork, granting a +1 enhancement bonus on attack rolls, and bypass hardness of less than 20 when sundering items.

There is nothing else in the grainery.

The other building to the side has a small curtain to the back room, which has weathered the passage of time.

As far as I'm concerned, if this weapon helps keep the creatures of the necropolis away from me, it's yours.

Abenor checks the paladin's muscled physique and listens to his deep voice. "Yeah, only you would make good use of such a weapon anyways." he says. He then goes to check what's behind the small curtain, see if anything interesting will come up, apart from devilish monsters.

Did someone request devilish monsters?

Three skeletons clatter to their feet with startling speed when the curtain is disturbed. The skeletons have no armor or weapons and attack with their claws.

OOC:

Rolling initiative... The PCs not named Jaware can act before the three skeletons.

I'll happily take some skeletons.

I'm pretty sure I would lose an arm using that. From holding it. Khadi jokes as she stands up from the rites.

As the skeletons emerge she blinks for a moment processing the attack then grins as she rapidly raises her symbol 'Khepri, let's show them why we are are. Undead, now is the time for you to move on!' As she speaks a burst of energy pulses from the scarab to wash over the skeletons.

They could will save for half, but half still defeats them, so ...

Khadi's convince channeling boats the three skeletons into smithereens.

Combat is over.

After the passing of millennia, nothing of interest is left here, save the dried skeletons of two house cats.

Abenor grins with the realization that undeads have finally come along his way. "Let's go." he says and attacks the nearest skeleton with his shortsword, aiming right at the chest area.

OOC:

Undeads are Abenor's favored enemy so he gets +2 to both attack and damage rolls. The rule does not specificy anything like "you cannot use the bonuses at the same time" so I'm applying both of them.

Edit: So I haven't seen the previous post. We can go ahead and act like Abenor acted a bit slow and attacked air.

Sorry Abenor, Khadi got there first :P Also yeah the intent behind favoured enemy is the bonus is both at once.

As the skeletons turn to dust Khadi fist pumps the air. 'See, told you guys you should keep Khepri and I around.' She pats Abenor on the shoulder. 'Would have been a good swing though.

As the adrenaline and thrill begins to fade she once again to go and kneel and the skeletons, whispering prayers that they would find the boneyard and be guided to the right afterlife, now they were free of torment.

"Khadi, thank you for your rites upon their remains. The Old Gods sincerely look upon you with their favor. Nobody would ever be foolish enough to wonder at your value." He nods looks around towards the covered area to the North-West.

The skeletons were in the small area in the northeast corner of the compound.

The area in the northwest of this wing of the outdoor portion is a pantry, accessible for servants bringing goods from outdoors, but with a door into the kitchen.

The room is empty save for dust, debris, and empty shelves built into the walls.

Tabat takes a step back and looks up, searching for whatever it was Iseret saw while instinctively drawing his sword. He augments his stance to account for the extra weight of the new weapon strapped to his back.

Does he see the thing? Whats it doing?

Tabat readies an attack for the moment the creature falls to the ground and is within striking distance, rushing forward the moment Jaware's arrow strikes the creature.

Ready Action: Charge + Power Attack at the creature once it starts to fall (if it does)

The arrow strikes true, but the huge spider is merely annoyed by the attack. It drops down and attacks.

OOC:

That was a free surprise attack. I'll roll initiative. Everyone not named Khadi goes before the spider.
