Chapter 1 : Greenest in Flames

Rivaan points to himself "Me too?" and then follows along as there might be something urgent he can assist with. As Tarbaw Night hill is explaining the situation Rivaan thinks to himself if he should offer healing to the man but then shakes it off as he is only able to do that twice in a day at most and should be reserved for life or death injuries.

Turning to Brommyr, "Oh wow you captured one of those cultists? Hopefully they will tell us their intentions or how to repel the dragon now that it has been summoned."

Kutanar spits out a tooth and growls back "It wasn't an interrogation. You just hit me while I tried to tell you I'm a spy. I'm on your side." Looking the the party over, he spits out a glob of blood. "I prefer to work alone, but I suppose you'll have to do."

Turning to look at the governor again, he grumbles, "I don't have much information about the methods and motives of the cult. I was trying to get closer to the center of it all, but then you interfered." He glowers at the lot of you.

Rivaan eyes Kutanar questionably. Thinking to himself "well that is what someone would say who wants us to trust him. But then again what else would a spy say?"

"Its convenient that you are not a cultist but a spy who happens to not have much information. You must have some information that cultist would hate to be released."

"I agree." Xarathon says to Rivaan, "It would seem quite difficult to distinguish between a spy pretending to be a cultist and a cultist pretending to be a spy."

Glowering at you, he tells you, "I know this attack was part of the ritual, but what part, I don't know. I can also take you to their camp, if you wish. Before we leave, I will require anyone coming with us show me their chest. I wish to check for cult spies myself if
I am to work with you. As for me, you know I am a spy, so I will show you mine."

He pulls his robe open in the center to show twisted, burnt skin in the shape of a dragon's flame.

Rivaan strokes his chin for a moment trying to decide on if he should trust this individual. He thinks to himself "well my father was a part of this cult and he wasnt a bad dragonborn so they are not all bad .. right? And if he is telling the truth then this could really help me out."

After a moment passes Rivaan starts unclipping his armor so that he may expose his chest as Kutanar just had. "I do not fully trust you, however, if you are telling the truth we can not have you just sit in a jail cell." After revealing his chest to show no burn mark of the cult he starts putting his armor back on. Eyeballing Kutanar closely while trying to decern if Kutanar is lying or not "I am willing to put my life on the line to see if your intel is good or if you are leading us into a trap."

"Question for you though, if you have been submerging yourself into this cult for information. To what organization has hired you to retrieve this information? Who had sent you to spy on such organization?"

Rivaan gathers his stuff and is ready to set off with Kutanar and anyone who wishes to go.

"You do not set rules and terms here, but know that I serve The Justicebringer. Those that serve the Queen of Chaos shall be put down."

Tarbaw Nighthill speaks up: '' I’d give anything to know what we’re up against, and why.
For that, I am willing to believe Kutanar, since we have the same enemy and he is giving us these information."

Then a guard rushes to the Governor and interrupts :
''We have spotted a new threat. Raiders are trying
to set fire to the town’s mill. If it burns, we’ll lose our
stockpile of flour and we won’t be able to grind more for
months. I’m trying to assemble enough defenders from
here in the keep to defend it through the rest of the night,
but that will take time".

Tarbaw Nighthill frowns, looks at you and says:
"You’d do us a great service if you
could get to the mill quickly and drive away the raiders
before they can set it aflame. You’ll need to defend it until
our force arrives to take over. Kutanar, you will join them.''

I suppose these people could be useful, especially if a governor owes me a favor.

He grits his teeth and smiles. "I suppose I could do that."

"Guard! Do you have any buckets of water we can bring or blankets to smother out and flames that have already started?"



After the guard brings any material to put out already started flames or after guard indicates there is nothing to put out any flames Rivaan opens the door to leave. "Please, after you" Rivaan looks to Kutanar and motions for him to take the lead. Rivaan will follow Kutanar down to the mill to see if there is anything they can do to save the villages food supply.

Kutanar snorts, shrugs off the hand of the guard that is still on his shoulder and walks through the offered door. As he walks past, without breaking stride, he briefly looks Rivaan straight in the eyes. You get the impression you're being sized up.

Xarathon doesn't want to be the first through any door, but he is no coward. The two newcomers are unknown quantities, but he takes solace in the strength of numbers.
"Brommyr. Do you wish to lead us? I will follow. And it looks like these two are willing to come."

Aye, let's get to the mill. he says, striding towards the door, strapping his shield to his arm, heading out the door after Kutanar.

Governor Nighthillsays to Rivaan of the Norixius "You need to stop them not, before they set the mill on fire "
and then he says "Great, good luck adventurers"


So you gather up and you find the guard. You go the a cellar and behind some barrels there is an ironbound
door, and the guard opens it. "You will need this key to open it at the end.
The stream exit is covered with a locked iron
grate made to look like a sewer outlet. The tunnel’s main
function was as a secret means of collecting water from
the stream during a siege, but it can double as a sally
port. Since the keep has never been besieged, the old
tunnel has never been used. And be careful of the rats...they bite"

A narrow tunnel runs from the cellar beneath the keep.
The tunnel is wide enough to allow you to pass through it in single file.

Rivaan follows down the tunnel behind Kutanar

Accepting the key from the guard, Kutanar reluctantly takes the lead down the tunnel. Maybe carrying the key will make them pause before they stab me in the back. He casts a wary eye back at Brommyr and Xarathon. I'll need to keep an eye on those two.
