Day - Something Strange Is Going On [IC]

Javi engages the others in conversation. "So, say we see the janitor walk out of there. What's the plan? We'll freak him out if three weirdos get out of a Volkswagen Beetle asking him questions. We need something more subtle." He reasons out loud.

"The janitor will also be tired after a long day of questioning. Any thoughts?"

"I’m not worried. Janitors, cleaning crew, guardsmen like me… there’s a kinship there. We know what it's like to be in a gigantic building at night, only emergency lights on, this world of sheeps asleep, and we brave few against the terrors they release into the night." Wagner’s posture gets straighter and shows pride and belonging.
"He may be the late bourbon kind of guy, or the early coffee kind of guy. But he won’t refuse a free drink, even at this hour, and a chance to rant about whatever they did to him."

He nods at Wagner. "OK. We'll let you night owls connect, then. I'll stay back in the car on first approach, we don't want to alarm the fellow..."

Sammy stares at Wagner with a grin. "That's a great idea." He looks over at Javi and whispers. "I knew he was a bourbon man." Then breaks out in a hearty laugh.

Sammy manages to get through to one of his contacts. Officer Chris Moffat has seen some crazy shit while on the job. He doesn't believe in monsters, but admits that Sammy's passion for monster sightings amuses him. He will sometimes pass along information. As long as Sammy doesn't get in the way of real investigations, then he's harmless. Chris is finishing off the night filling out paperwork when Sammy calls.

After some very quick small talk, Sammy can't hold back. "So, I was passing by the Bank of the West Tower a few hours ago. That looked insane! I'm not going to get in the way, but I saw the scene. That was not natural! C'mon man, did you see the window? That was blown in, not out! There is some strange shit going on there. Seriously, can you give me anything?"

Sammy hangs up the phone and stares at the screen for a few seconds. He looks up at Javi, then over a Wagner. "Well, this is bigger than we thought. My guy on the inside says there's been a string of these. They're thinking it's a serial killer. What do you guys think? What's the next move?"

"Oh boy. A cryptid serial killer is BAAAAD NEWS. I guess... we look at the other gruesome murders in recent weeks? Look for a pattern..." He looks at the others, "Newspaper websites, or wait for tomorrow to hit some big library..."

Javi gets busy on the smartphone, running some searches on the cryptid forum they all belong to...

"Nah... People are seeing cryptids left right and centre... Cannot figure the sightings that might be real." he says shaking his head at the confusing plethora of posts and comments.

"I think the library is our best bet. We need to find more details on the murders that have been happening around the city. Do some research. Figure out what we can. See if there are any connections. The cops are going to be looking for a someone, not a something."

Sammy looks back and forth between the other two. "Do either of you know much about the J'ba FoFi? We should probably get educated on what we're up against ... if it is the FoFi." His leg cramps up something fierce and he tries to stretch and work it out. "Where the hell is this guy. I don't think I can sit here for much longer."

"Not me... I know a little more about snow cryptids... But only know this one's a big spider. " he admits.

Wagner scratches his head "I’m more about government experiments gone rogue. Although I guess this might a "King Kong" situation where they brought a giant spider here to experiment and find a way to use it to control the masses. Or just to spread fear. They loooove to spread fear and misinformation. "

Wagner gets out of the car and stretches his back and legs – the beetle doesn’t much suit his tall, lanky build. "Look, if in a half hour this guy isn’t out, you should go pursue this other trail at the library. I’ll wait here, or perhaps I’ll go into the precinct to complain about some minor infraction I saw. I do that sometimes, to sneak a peek of what the cops are doing. They never pay me too much attention; also, we agreed that all three of us coming on to this guy was a bit too aggressive. I'll do it alone." he grins "We can text each other the rendez-vous point after we’re done." he stops, then chuckles "Rendez-vous, right? Right?"

Sammy looks at Wagner bleary-eyed. "Thanks Carson! Thanks for offering. I agree with you. This guy'll get spooked if all of us rush him at once." Sammy, unable to hold back a massive yawn, covers his mouth with the back of his hand and says. "I'm gonna head home and get a couple hours rest. I'll hit the library in the morning and find out what I can about the murders around the city in the past month or so. I'll also see if I can find anything on the FoFi." Sammy opens the door and steps out onto the sidewalk. "Here's my number. Text me when you want to meet up."

"I'll stay here with Wagner - I'm the ride here, right? " he says. "If the fella comes out of there, we 'll need wheels to find a bar at this time of night."
