I'm close to finished with mine as well. Still second guessing my skill choices but I should have something submitted later tonight

I'm working on the character sheet now.

When choosing skills is it better to peanut butter and spread with +1s in many things? Or is it better to have a more expert approach?
Personally, I think it’s better to specialize in a few areas, which can represent your niche in the group. Spending points on too many skills can leave your character spread too thin. To echo what Witchdoctor said, this system has lots of skills, making it difficult to create a true jack-of-all-trades character. Thus, I think the expert approach is best. And you can always make unskilled attempts for skills you don’t have.

On the other hand, be careful not to hyper-specialize, either. I also recommend everyone have some semblance of combat skill, even if you aren’t a combat character. If only so you can defend yourself when necessary.

Getting close to having a character ready. Really just equipment left to do. Hopefully will have it done by tomorrow.
Are you still making an Inheritor?

Jomsviking, are you still making the true immortal?

Yeah I'm almost ready for review.

@Lactose: Is there a group setting you have planned for the game or are you waiting to see what characters we have before determining that?

I’m kind of waiting, but my initial premise is that you are all a unit or team working either for, or with, the Alliance (or another faction altogether). I may then tweak the idea based on what characters get created. I find, at least for me, that mission-based games with clear objectives are well suited for play-by-post. Also partly because this is a war story.

That doesn’t mean any of your characters need to be members of the Alliance. The team will probably represent an inter-faction cooperative effort, which isn’t entirely uncommon as things get more desperate.

Your character’s Association won’t be terribly important for this game. It’s more of a narrative and roleplaying decision, since it’ll inform your character’s ultimate loyalties, but each Association does provides a small mechanical benefit for its members.

Probably the easiest thing to do is wait till most characters are done, and then people can discuss their interpersonal relationships with each other (if any) and what Associations work best for them.

This will be an interesting group since you have an Exiled Seraphim and several Inheritors working together. Historically, the Seraphim and the Old Gods don’t like each other, though that doesn’t reflect all angels and Primal Beings. It’ll make for an interesting dynamic.

In case it’s not obvious, Armageddon draws heavily from ‘90s supernatural action-thrillers. For instance, the Relentless Dead are basically Eric Draven from The Crow. Likewise, the Seraphim follow the style of the angels depicted in The Prophecy movies with Christopher Walken. And the True Immortals are not-so-subtly inspired by the Highlander series. And so on.

It's quite the kitchen sink world but it's different enough to be intriguing. At least there's quite a bit of difference in the Immortals of Armageddon and the Immortals of Highlander. But then again, there's a distinct difference between the ones from the Highlander movie & the TV series. (Any Highlander movie past the first one is not to be mentioned.)

@Lactose: I've submitted my character (sans skills just yet) for you to get a look at the attributes, Qualities & Drawbacks in case you had suggestions or alternatives.

Yup. Carter Bonham has just recently realized his powers, as a few months ago to a couple of years he just considered himself an ordinary getaway driver. But during a heist gone wrong and he should have died, he miraculously survived. When caught and explained what he was, he offered his services to the Alliance in exchange for them not delivering him to the proper authorities.

Ok thanks. I’ll be taking a look at them tonight.

I looked Dr. Avel over. Seems pretty solid, so far. My only recommendation might be, when you take skills, to make him as multi-disciplinary as possible. Give him levels in several sciences or other scholastic skills, not just one field. That'll increase his likelihood of applying his expertise in various situations. Skills such as Tactics and Occult Knowledge would be useful to the group, and he's crazy smart so even with only one level in them, you'd generally roll quite well.

Thank you, Jomsviking. I will look the character over tonight.

@Lactose: Would Resources or Contacts be a better use for the remaining 5 Quality points? Or perhaps there's another Quality I'm overlooking ?

I've put in the Skills. Have a look over them & let me know what you think.

Just started the Highlander TV series. The soundtrack is amazing. The BDSM dude with the Hannibal Lechter face mask is too much to be taken seriously. But it was the 90s I'll forgive them having grown up in them.

Anything Queen touches is amazing. Just look at the Flash Gordon movie... The soundtrack alone launched that movie into cult status.
