Descending the Temple Depths

The skewered skeleton is helpless against the power of Deoring's glowing blade. Raynor's light explodes out from the points of impact between the sword and the staff, and blows the abomination to dust.

Asha lets out a scream as the two-headed, three-armed skeleton looms over her cowering form. The captain charges to her aid, but is still moving slowly from the effects of the 'cold'.

What do you do?

"We cannot stay here!" Rook shouts. "More are coming, and the ones that were knocked down rise again. We need to flee through one of these doors, bar it behind us, and hope fate is with us!"

Roald overlooks the situation and knows Rook is right. He is still bruised from the last fights and doesn't know how much he can take in this condition.

''Lead the way Rook, I'm right behind you''.

Deoring shouts to Albert, "Look! Asha and the Captain need our help!"

Then he runs to their aid.

- Deoring -

Running like that, you are able to get to the threatening skeleton before the slow-moving captain and before it can hurt Asha.

What do you do?

Albert sees Deoring run to help Asha. He thinks for a split second and realizes what he should do. Even though Raynor sent me here to destroy the evil, I have to put the safety of my friends first. I may be on a quest, but I'm also still... somewhere deep down... a cleric. And clerics don't lead their friends into danger if they can help it!

He also starts running in the same direction. "Deoring, help Asha and the captain to where Rook is. Get them somewhere safe. I'll try to hold off this monstrosity and buy you some time."

"Hear me, Raynor. I am in need of your help." Albert starts to chant as he rushes forward. "Give me the power to hold these foul things at bay. For 't is not their domain we live in. It is yours! These beings have no place in it and should return to the soil they were buried in long ago." He points his staff towards the hulking mass of moving bones. "Did you hear me, creature?! Leave this place and never return!"
OOC:
The last words are meant to be loud and threatening, but let's see what the roll has to say about that first :P

Once again, the skeleton utters a silent scream. Both of its heads lowering their jaws menacingly at Albert. The non-sound somehow makes Albert lose conciousness.
[ +- ] Albert's dream
Albert snaps out of his 'dream'. To his surprise he's still standing in front of the two-headed skeleton. He looks around at his friends. It appears no time has passed at all since he blacked out. He burries the thoughts for now. There are more pressing matters.

Deoring arrives at Asha’s side just as Albert steps in front of the Frankenskeleton.

"Asha, let’s go! Albert’s got this! See where Rook is? Help me get the Captain over there!"
May 2, 2022 2:27 am
"Thank you. I can manage." The captain says a little testily.

She takes Asha's arm with the appearance of trying to help the girl, but the support looks rather mutual. Together they make their way over in Rook's direction.

Albert waits for everyone to be behind him, then starts to slowly back up towards the others by the door. He tries his best to keep the mass of bones at bay.
May 3, 2022 1:48 pm
The door does not immediately open. Whether it is locked or just grown closed will require some testing.

The hinges and the keyhole are covered and filled with moss and what looks a lot the exploding sort of fungus. Some clearing will be needed before you can even work out if the door opens towards you or away.

What do you do?
May 4, 2022 12:46 am
Roald takes a good look at the door and notices moss and fungi in the cracks. He starts clearing away the vegetation around the door with his sword so that it will be able to swing open.
'' The hinges are on this side of the door, so it should swing towards us. Rook, can you remove some of the moss on the floor so we can try to open it? I'll keep working on the edges ''

"Ahem, Captain, thank you for helping me with Asha. Almost there now."
May 4, 2022 2:11 am
Deoring glances back to see if Albert is okay or if he needs help.
May 4, 2022 9:42 am
Albert is focused on the threat in front of him. "Guys? How's it going back there? Are we ready to leave? I don't know how long I can hold this thing off." He jabs his stick forward at the skeleton, hoping the glow will deter it from coming closer. "Stay back, you fiend!"
May 4, 2022 11:21 am
The skeletal agglomeration tries to swat the staff out of the way, but recoils from the flash of light that emanates upon contact. Like its companion before it, it definitely does not like the touch of the fire of Raynor. Until it finds a way around, or steels itself for the contact, Albert can continue to hold it at bay while the others work on the door.

Asha and the Captain start to drag swaths of moss away to clear space for the door to swing open, this leaves Rook free to take a look at the lock.
May 6, 2022 5:46 am
Neither the captain nor Asha pay much attention, but the moss they are pulling from the doorway is riddled with coins and other things that glint in the dim light. Possibly the residual possessions of the guards that here sitting here all this time?
May 6, 2022 9:15 am
Albert sees the boneman recoil from Raynor's fire and thinks he spots an opening in its defense. He decides to go for an attack and jabs his broom handle forward at the thing, aiming for its chest. "I said stay back!"

The staff connects with the skeleton, sending some shards of bone across the room. Albert looks behind him at the others now that he has a few seconds while the monster is reeling from the attack. He sees the others working on the moss that's preventing them from opening the door.

Feeling the power of Raynor coursing through his veins from the attack just now, he calls out to his god for guidance. "Raynor, show us the way to victory. Help us get the advantage we need to regroup and strike with conviction!" He calls out to the ceiling, hoping that Raynor is listening.
