New to PbP, Hey There

Hey everyone!

I got the small kiddo time crunch, but I also got the RPG itch pretty fierce. Harrigan turned me into this place, and for better or worse I trust his advice.

I'm lately into lighter weight retroclones like Troika!, TBH, SS&SS, SB&CS, OSE, Macchiato Monsters, Whitestar, etc. In the past, I played a lot of Genesys and FFG star wars (I enjoy the funny dice). I'm also really on board with trying anything because RPGs are fun, yo.

I'm looking to get introduced to the PbP lifestyle, see if it's something I mesh with. I tried it once via slack many years ago and it fell flat. In not sure if I bounced off the medium or that specific game. In retrospect I think it might have been the latter.

Looking forward to seeing what this place is about. Now I'll just have to figure out how to get my phone to notify me when someone posts...

To join a game, keep your eyes on the Games Tavern, where GMs advertise their games and look for players.

Welcome Dannuic! What's one of the light weight games that you're most interested in but haven't yet been able to try?

I've had my eye on quite a few of the 2400 games. Some of them look really cool and the system seems to be easy, but I haven't gotten it to the table yet!

Right, 24xxx! @antiproduct pointed that system out to me last summer, but I haven't tried it yet either.

I think I missed the initial wave because there was just so much content all at once.

I think I'll peruse the forums a bit tonight after the kiddo goes to sleep. Exciting!
