Ok everyone, let's begin.
It is May 1st, 1550 AD. You and your companions have secured a ship. It's called the Old Veil, but you can rename it if you want. It is a galley style ship with a crew of 50. It is designed for long hauls and much cargo. I think you picked roles everyone, so that should be good. The ship is about 5 years old and you got it for a fair price. Now however, you need more coin and the New World beckons.
You've heard the stories of the Spanish, the wealth they have and their strange encounters. How much is true versus how much is exaggerated, no one can be sure without going there. But you have that chance, King Henry has given you all a Letter of Marque, allowing you to attack Spanish vessels and colonies. Of course 20% of your gains goes to the Crown, but that is to be expected.
The salty air enters your noses as you survey the harbor of La Rochelle. It is a decent sized town, home to much shipping. You've already made arrangements for getting supplies on your ship. Your crew of 50 scoundrels awaits your orders. Being that you all own the ship, it is up for you to decide when you leave. You can hire more sailors if you want, get any extra supplies like spices or just pull up anchor and get on with it.
Welcome to the 4e Pirates!
