Volume 1: Calling Cards

Only names, unfortunately. Quantum Gal, The Ox, and the Black Swan.

He turns back to MaCavity. They do have a surveillance system. Your best bet will be to disable that first. In the interest of time, a standard video loop may be appropriate.

I will mention that after you collect the items, you'll want to lay low, then return here by the same method tomorrow night. Third-shifters are one thing, but it'd be odd for workers to return at the hour I suspect you'll be done.

And there it was, why Gennison needed all of them to steal a hard drive. "Supers? Super!" Tentacular was sure he had entangled with at least some of them before, or then again maybe not. There were so many of them nowadays it was hard to keep straight: was it Bullpen, Mad Cow, The Ox, Gorehorn or Buffalo Billy that foiled his escape once? And so many with Gal, Girl, Grrl, Grrrl and even Grrrrl suffixed at the end. "Sounds like a blaster, a beater and a ballerina will be running defence!"

has a perturbed cat look, and if she had a tail it would be twitching. She stays quiet though. If they were famous or dangerous supers, they'd have heard of them. So that was a good sign at least....

Brigid shrugs at Tentacular's assertion about the supers' abilities.

"Ehh, you never know. Names aren't the best judge of ability. Speaking of, if we're going to make a decent plan, we're going to need to know each others' powers. As you can see, mine is pretty self explanatory."

A wave of her power armor's arm demonstrates.

"No tricks just yet, but it enhances my physical ability all around."
Apr 16, 2022 3:46 am
"I like the way you think Terminal. We can check social media to for intel on the supers. No one can work in that field and stay off the grid. An ability breakdown on our end is a good idea. I have 'tactile telekinesis' here." A green aura flairs up around her. "If I can touch it, I can lift it. I'm bullet proof because of that, as long as I know it's coming. I can fly," and Riven floats off the chair a little,"I guess because I am in touch with myself? Once an object is not touching me, I lose all control over it."

"I'm afraid you've seen the best and worst of me," was Tentacular's response to the the shortcut discussion to introduce their powers. It was vital to know what the others could do. He already did his whisky glass trick moments ago, and wasn't sure juggling the rest of the tumblers on the tray would further impress or push things over the edge. "I'm very very handy to have around."

"And as for yours truly," ElectroLite chirped up, a bit loudly, "I'm what certain doctors have referred to as 'selectively magnetic'. I can do this..." The table lurched into the air as though being suspended on a wire, rotating slowly in perfect balance. "...so long as I keep the ol' ticker on ice. Once I hit triple digit BPMs, the only thing I'm levitating is my feet."

And I think we'll wait until Miss MaCavity is in action. Don't want to let the cat out of the bag.

He winks across the table then stands to open a case on a low bookshelf. Opening it, you see a variety of gear inside.

Magnetically shielded electronics. The wristbands have a button to "ping" your location to allies, a small digital map, and a short range security scrambler that'll confuse your footprint. The cameras overall will see glitches in the video, so you'll still want to do something to the global system. There's a set of thieves' tools in here, too.

I have a car to take you within a block of the company. Do you need anything else?
Apr 21, 2022 9:51 pm
she shrugs and examines the tools to see if they're actually useful. Pretty sure were good.

It was interesting that the good doctor had such specialized tech on hand. Perhaps he'd already anticipated his need of such services well in advance? Or perhaps the devices were used by others before them.

Whatever the case, Brigid picks up a wristband. She turns it over in her hand to examine it from all angles, before clipping it on. It hangs a bit loose on her thin wrist.

"Neat. By the way, I hope your car is able to fit my power armor. It's not exactly small."

OOC:
scene change
The scent of salt water flutters around you as the pickip truck chugs merrily through the night. "Chad's Emergency Plumbing" isn't the swanky ride you may have been expecting, but it's self-driving and pulls attention away from Terminal's armor. It turns down a delivery alley and your wristbands buzz to life. The map shows about half a football field, with a smaller map in the upper corner indicating you're about 2 blocks away from the service entrances of the company. The digitized plot reminds you of an old flight simulator, or a game on a calculator, but the contrast is good in the dim light. The truck rolls to a stop and you hear the doors unlock.
Apr 22, 2022 10:45 pm
Brigid hops out of the bed of the pickup truck. After landing feet first on the ground, she stretches a bit to calibrate her power armor one more time.

"Okay, so who's doing what?"
Apr 23, 2022 4:24 pm
ElectroLite lazily detached from the metal interior of the vehicle. "First things first, we gotta take down the surveillance system, whether directly taking the control room or via remote hack. Then we need to bypass security and secure the payload. And if all goes well, we need to get out again."

Looking over the rest of the team, ElectroLite supposed it might be best to split up, "That leaves us with two, perhaps three teams - one for each task. Personally, I'd prefer to take the surveillance route, but I can be persuaded."

runs a hand Through her hair and shrugs. I'm more for the sneak in and open things up route. Im not exactly a fighter and my power is far from predictable

While y'all formulate a plan please roll Introvert (low), Street Smart (low), or Head (high) to get a better feel for your surroundings.

"Gotta scope the place first." Tentacular did not so much step out of the back of the van than sling him out with an extension of his arm, suctioned on the nearest building. "We need to figure out the best entrance/exit, and also see where the security room or access point is to take down the surveillance, as Electrolite says."
OOC:
Do our devices already have intel and a map of the place? Or I'm assuming this roll will be able to give us a bit more info in that regard? Anyway, Tentacular has no relevant stat (ie he's got Extrovert, Head Smart and Heart), so I'll need some guidance on how to roll. Help?

Rolls

Perception 3 - (1d4)

(1) = 1

OOC:
A map, yes, but nuances are missing, like landscaping, witness, locations of the alleged supers, etc. Go ahead and roll one of the listed stats anyway. In your case, I'd suggest Street Smart. You've got a 50% chance since you went for a more balanced score, and a d4 doesn't have perfection or failure, so a miss is fairly safe.

Brigid pokes her head out of the alley and takes a quick scan of the area.

Rolls

Street Smarts 3 - (1d4)

(4) = 4

Apr 24, 2022 1:35 pm
Macavity scans the area looking for easy to enter openings. security, and cameras

Rolls

Street Smart 4 - (1d6)

(1) = 1

When Terminal tries to get a look around a dark feather flies out of an air vent and smacks her in the face.

Tentacular and Macavity notice a few extra cameras have been put in place, and a laser tripwire inside the building. The cameras, at least, could be blocked by a branch from a nearby bush with a little creativity. There's enough of a breeze that it'd be believable.
