"Yes, yes, Koram, that's a good idea", Grom says as he is shaken from his reverie...
OOC:
Tame Animal = closest Tapir to Grom

Rolls

Nature check (+5) - (1d20+5)

(8) + 5 = 13

Jun 21, 2022 12:14 pm
The tapirs growls at Grom and stamps their feet, which again aggravates the poisoned barbs in their feet.
Jun 23, 2022 8:14 am
Seeing Grom having little success, Koram tries to calmly approach the nearest Tapir, his hands held out to attempt to appear passive and non-threatening, seeing if he can get close enough to interact with the trap.
OOC:
Gonna try and roll stealth here, for approaching quietly so as not to spook the creature.

Rolls

Stealth (Dex) - (1d20+5)

(14) + 5 = 19

Jun 23, 2022 11:03 am
The tapirs are focused on Grom and seems oblivious to Koram who sneaks around behind them. They seem ready to attack anyone that gets near.
Jun 23, 2022 11:15 am
Atticus walks up and does his best to try and calm the Tapirs down. As he walks up Atticus tries to remember some of the tricks the animal handles used to calm the horses back in his homeland.
OOC:
This is more Handle Animal than anything else.

Rolls

Nature (Animal Handling) - (1d20+4)

(7) + 4 = 11

Jun 23, 2022 8:40 pm
Koram reaches down upon the nearest Tapir and attempts to gently release the trap.
OOC:
No idea what I'm doing; guessing a Dex roll here

Rolls

Dexterity - (1d20+2)

(8) + 2 = 10

Jun 24, 2022 9:25 am
With the sudden appearance of Koram, the tapir lashes out in anger.
OOC:
Koram, I could see a case for both Medicine (which you have) and Thievery (which you don't), but even if I add your Medicine modifier instead, the roll was too low sadly.

They are angry and ready to attack. They are weakened due to the poison, but can still be a threat. To attack with non-lethal attacks you suffer a -2 to your attack roll if you desire to knock them out and sort it all out later. I will let you keep your Stealth roll as initiative if you want Koram.

Rolls

Initiative Tapir (Blue) - (1d20+6)

(16) + 6 = 22

Initiative Tapir (Red) - (1d20+6)

(5) + 6 = 11

Jun 24, 2022 9:36 pm
OOC:
I'll gladly accept using that Stealth check as initiative, thanks - makes sense in the circumstance. Looks like one of them will beat me so I'll wait for any actions.
Jun 26, 2022 8:14 pm
Igbork yawns but his eyes grow wide when the tapirs begin to attack.
He draws his sword and is ready to help Koram in capturing the tapirs

Rolls

Initiative - Perception - (1d20+7)

(4) + 7 = 11

Jun 27, 2022 7:31 am
OOC:
Still missing Initiative from Atticus and Grom.
Jun 27, 2022 1:41 pm
Atticus watches as the Tapirs start to attack. Drawing his sword, he starts to move up. We need them alive..don't we?

Rolls

Initiative (Perception] - (1d20+4)

(13) + 4 = 17

Jun 27, 2022 3:12 pm
OOC:
whoops
As the Tapir's agressive intent becomes clear, Grom instinctively raises his shield and braces for a possible onslaught

Rolls

initiative - (1d20+2)

(4) + 2 = 6

The Tapir struggles against his snare, and is able to free itself. It immediately moves towards Grom and bites at him. Grom has no trouble dodging the blow, as the creature seems weakened from the poison.

OOC:

Koram and Atticus can act.

Edit: Sees I forgot to edit the map before I uploaded. The Tapir would have stepped 5 feet closer to Grom to attack him.

Round 1:
Character Initiative Acted
Tapir (Blue) 22 X
Koram 19
Atticus 17
Tapir (Red) 11
Igbork 11
Grom 6

Rolls

Tapir (Blue) Athletics - (1d20+6)

(11) + 6 = 17

Tapir (Blue) Attack vs Grom - (1d20+6)

(4) + 6 = 10

Jun 28, 2022 8:37 am
Koram contemplates what to do regarding the large creature. The poor things must be hurt terribly from that snare. Had it been one of theirs? No time now, must act. Can't kill it, need it alive.

"Haitith, take it down!" Koram yells.

The dragon-like Eidolon heeds the call and attempts to use its serpentine jaws to pull at the creatures leg in an attempt to topple him while Koram pulls out his spear.
OOC:
Action 1: Action Together (Koram manipules to ready his rope, Haitith strides to G8
Action 2: Haitith attempts to Trip using his jaw attack
Aciton 3: Koram attempts to tie the creature with his rope - making a 1d20 roll, GM please use whatever modifier makes sense

Rolls

Haitith Strike (Trip, no damage) - (1d20+7)

(11) + 7 = 18

Koram uses rope - (1d20)

(1) = 1

Jun 28, 2022 9:55 am
Haitith quickly runs over to the creature, knocking it to the ground with efficiency. Koram follows up with a rope, but even though the creature is down, it fights against it, and instead pulls Koram down the ground as well.
OOC:
I am thinking either an Athletics to fasten the rope around it, or a ranged attack to throw it as a lasso. It hardly matters with such an unlucky roll. I am calling the critcal fail effect that Koram is knocked prone instead.

OOC:
@Squadfather44, Atticus is up
Jun 30, 2022 6:33 pm
Atticus grabs the rope from his pack and quickly firms a lasso. Taking aim at the closest Tapir he tries to bring it under control.

Rolls

Ranged attack (lasso) - (1d20+4)

(18) + 4 = 22
