Grom is eventually able to calm the beast down, and you are able to get closer and help them get the barbs out. Though the process takes some time. You have time to do some healing or similar if need be.

"That's better, see? I'm only trying to help you". Grom drives his Longspear into the ground and frees a lump of turf. He adds some water from his flask and works the soil into a plaster that he applies around the barbs before removing them. Carefully, he covers the wound as he murmurs words of healing. The druid looks at the large lump of plaster left in his hands and calls out, "Anyone else need fixing up?"

OOC:
Is the one Tapir that Atticus tied up, calmed down yet?
Jul 27, 2022 10:47 am
OOC:
Yes, you are eventually able to calm all the animals.

Koram moves closer to Grom. "I could use some of your curatives, my friend. That creature hit me pretty hard." Koram places a hand to his ribcage - it feels bruised, possibly a cracked bone.
Jul 27, 2022 10:01 pm
Ohhh... well you clearly are better in taming tapirs than me Igbork says to Grom and laughs heartily.
As he can't really heal he instead resorts to stand guard. Maybe the people that put up the traps will come back for their prey....

Atticus until the rope and leads the Tapir, he managed to lasso, back to the others. It seems that we have completed another of the tasks. We should head back to the village, once we're able to.

"Aye, indeed", Grom replies and begins to coat Koran’s bruised ribs with his cool mud. As he do so, he addresses Igbork, "’twas a little harder than I thought it was going to be", he says and laughs with the mighty warrior

As you are about to leave, Grom can pick up some slight rustling in the woods, heading for the clearing. It's hard to pick up what could cause the sound, but sounds like something trying to move quietly through the brush.

I rolled secret checks for you, and you were the only one to hear it Grom. None of the rest can hear anything, not without taking a Seek action at least.

Koram takes note of Grom's sudden alertness. Trusting his companion's instincts, Koram hunkers down and moves quietly.

As you ready for trouble, two unfamiliar hunters comes out of the brush, possibly to check their traps. You can immediately tell they're not from your following, as their faces are full of burn marks and scars. As well as what their torsos don't cover. "Give us the meat and you might get away from here with your life," one of them growls, pointing a spear in your direction.

OOC:
@Furmyr question - were these wild Tapir's or were they animals that somehow belonged or were being cared for by our tribe?
Jul 30, 2022 6:50 am
OOC:
They are wild Tapir that have to be domesticated.
Jul 30, 2022 6:56 am
Easy...we mean no harm to you. In fact I have a question for you. Are you missing a female from your hunting party? She had burns here..and here. Atticus traces lines, with his fingers, on his face to describe how the dead female was marked.

The man shrugs. "Could be. Should learn to take better care of herself," he snorts in derision. "Now will you give what is rightfully ours."
Jul 30, 2022 11:05 am
Grom walks to Atticus’ side and addresses the tribesman, "By what right do you claim the bounty of Sister Cinder, which she has given to the children of Grandfather Eiwa?"
Jul 31, 2022 9:53 am
"We put up the traps, they got caught in our traps," he growls then looks over to where the traps was for a moment. "Something did trigger the traps and hopefully it was the animals, as your meat looks chewy."
