OOC:
Again, Atticus, you have three actions, so you could make another attack at -5. You also seem to forget to add your level and your Str bonus to your attack roll, though it would not help in this case. And again, remind you all that you have Hero Points that have not been used. And in fact you are all maxed out on how many you can have.

The last hunter seems to focus as his friend goes down. You can see mad murder in his eyes, and you can’t imagine him giving up. He deftly dodges the Haitith’s blows as well as the electrical attack coming his way.

The hunter slashes once at Haitith and comes around to let loose a slash at Atticus. He then steps back from his two assailants.
OOC:

With the red hunter down for the count, you all get to act again before his next turn.

Igbork's aim proves true as both arrows hit their mark, making the remaining hunter look like a pincushion. Then as Grom runs forward the resulting wind blast knocks the hunter back and down on the ground. The battle seems to be over for now.
OOC:
Resolved in initiative order, so Koram don't have to spend a level 1 spell slot on Magic Missile.

Once you get your bearings after the fight, you detect a magical aura from one of the hunters. Looking closer you find a small token clipped on one of the hunters armors. It is in the shape of a leaf of some kind, the feather's shaft seems to be dipped in gold and have arcane marking.

You also find a few tindertwigs and some trinkets that could catch some value at a trading post.
OOC:
Arcana, Nature, Occultism or Religion DC 16 to identify the item.
Aug 12, 2022 9:25 pm
Igbork furrows his eyebrows and looks at the trinket they retrieved from the body of the hunter.
He thinks he has already seen something like that...
But after a few minutes of investigating it he shrugs his shoulder
I think I've seen items like these on people of other tribes but honestly I have no idea what this item is supposed to do

"Well done!" Koram elates, "While we did not go looking for a fight, we most certainly proved our worth this day!"

Haitith comes up alongside Koram and looks up at him. "They were easy targets, Master Koram. As always, it was a pleasure to save your lives - you should continue to count your blessings to have a companion such as I."

Koram purses his lips at the dragon. "Yeah, I suppose so," he says, "but you know it was a group effort. We are a tribe, Haitith - not a one of us are anything without the others."

The dragon opens its mouth as if to speak, then yawns. "If you-" ahhhyaa, "-say so, Koram."

OOC:
What will you do with the bodies, and will you be returning back home with the tapirs?
Aug 15, 2022 10:31 am
Igbork raises an eyebrow due to the dragon's remarks. Then he eyes the bodies.
I guess we should give them some kind of burial. I don't have a shovel but maybe we can at least put 'em into a ditch and cover them somewhat.
After that we can bring the tapirs back to our camp

Koram considers what the honorable thing to do would be, having vanquished one's foes and with his knowledge of Kellid tribes in the region. "We should be as respectful as we reasonably can," he says. "They were our enemies, and who knows if they would have done the same, but it is the right thing to do."
OOC:
I'll see if I can use Society or Warfare Lore to determine the best/most honorable way of treating the vanquished foe of another tribe on the battlefield - basically, if their tribe comes looking for them, what might they see as being respectful in spite of the circumstances?

Rolls

Society - (1d20+1)

(14) + 1 = 15

Warfare Lore - (1d20+4)

You know it varies between tribes. Some burn their dead, though more common is practice of excarnating their dead—laying out bodies for carrion feeders to strip clean so the decomposing remains can fertilize the land (this is also the one used by your Broken Tusk following). This practice is more time consuming. A few followings buries their dead, or places them in cairns as the winter ground can be hard to dig.

OOC:
If we're in doubt on what to do, I say go with what our following does.

"We should lay their bodies bare," Koram suggests, "It is what we would wish our enemies to do for us, if the tables had turned. It may take some time - I would volunteer for this task, but someone should bring the tapirs back to the Following."
