Having secured the wagon and oxen the group sets off along the newly discovered trail in search of Gundren. Colten, in the lead, sets a conservative pace as Delg entertains (or annoys, depending) everyone with songs of the grandeur of the legendary Mithral Hall. After about ten minutes of moving along the trail the nobleman suddenly comes to a stop as he feels his foot catch on something along the ground.
OOC:
@Colten: I'm going to need a DC 10 Dexterity Saving Throw. Succeed and you manage to slip your foot out of the snare in a knick of time. Fail and you find yourself dangling upside down ten feet in the air.
@Delg: I'm cool with your beard being your arcane focus.
Colten feels something catch underfoot, but maintains the poise of a nobleman, even when silently seething and holding his wine-skin. As the snare snaps into the air, the young man simply pauses and smiles the failed trap.
Deftly avoiding having his foot caught in the snare Colten watches as the empty trap springs harmlessly into the air. With an abundance of confidence he motions to the others to continue on. The heavily traveled trail continues to the north west and after another couple of miles of travel Colten stops the group and points to the ground in front of him.
A hastily covered pit trap has been constructed along the path that each member of the party easily bypasses before continuing along the trail finally arriving at a large cave in a hillside five miles from the scene of the ambush. A shallow stream flows out of the cave mouth, which is screened on the far side by dense briar thickets. A narrow dry path leads into the cave on the opposite side of the stream.

75XP for everyone!! Please keep track of your XP on your character sheet (or follow along in the XP Tracker thread).
I have torches with me. I suggest whoever can see in the dark goes in front. The one taking the rear can hold one of the torches. Does anyone have a bo,w crossbow, or can control the arcane who cannot see? This way we can determine who will hold the torch. I for one know only a minimal number of spells, a light hammer, and my blade. If necessary, I'll take the rear so I can still use my sword while the others can use two hands if they need to.
"While I can evade most attacks, I cannot see in the dark." Colten said with certainty, "Without a shield, I am more vulnerable. If someone could kindly hold a torch for me, I can better guard the rest of you."
I know how to wield a crossbow. I can cast the Light spell. Oh! Maybe I can cast Light on someone's weapon to act as a pseudo torch like weapon. I also can cast Faerie Fire, but that is for lighting up an area.
What kind of gentleman lets a woman walk head-first into danger?
"If you will, my lady, please cast your spell on my shield." Colten raises his buckler slightly, directing the request to Luka. "That way I can be further forward without choreographing my swordplay to our enemies.
"Wouldn't you think in a dark place like this a torch might draw arrows to us. Perhaps there is a way we could see without illuminating our entire party?" I hold my hand out for the torch seeing if they're willing to give to me.
