Malethor studies the dead end for a moment, running his hand over the surface, pushing and prodding here and there. Finding nothing, he shrugs and turns around and marches the opposite way.

Malethor rejoins the group with the extensive intel he gathered. They seem amused, though its hard to tell if he notices. Ryunir makes his way down the hallway, walking up a flight of stairs to see two heavy wooden doors. Noise from both direction splits his attention. Deep grunts and muffled words come from the south door, while heated conversation between several different people come from the north.

Ryunir makes his way back to the group, "The room closest to us, down that hall, has grunts coming from it. I'm going to guess since they haven't come out to investigate any noise out here, it is some sort of dungeon. Across the way from that room, is a group arguing about something. Then of course we have the hall where the Redbrands came from that we haven't looked at."

I can go check that hallway quickly, make sure nothing is going to come at our backs. Zephyr says as she heads for the upper west hallway.

The Gensai Rogue makes her way through the upper west hallway, not making a single scuff of her boots. The arguing Ryunir mentioned continued from the door to her south, she listened closer. A nasally voice speaks, "Not one of them has come back yet!" Someone slams on a table from behind the door, the sound of coins shaking and falling follows. A deeper commanding voices over powers the room "Fuck that, Squid! You lost the hand, stop trying to distract us. Just fuckin' pay up before I snap your neck!" The argument continues back and forth.

The door to Zephyr's north is quiet in contrast to the other one.

Zephyr makes her way back to the group.

The northern door there is silent as death itself. At the southern door, there was an argument. Possibly the same one the archer heard. Seems like they are arguing about a card game. Something about not paying up. What's the play?

We take them unawares. Come at them from two sides. Malethor jabs a finger at Zephyr. Take our goliath and dragonborn friends where you've just been. The archer and I will take the other hallway. the revenant starts moving even before he finishes talking.

Ryunir nods and follows Malethor as he takes off, when they reach the door, he draws his bow and nocks an arrow in preparation.

Edit: I don't know if I'm able to but would I be able to ready an action to fire an arrow when the door is opened?

The party splits and sets up at both doors, Ryunir now readied with an arrow. The Cleric of Bhaal uses her magic to tend her wounds. The arguemwnt continues, seemingly not noticing the foreseeable battle. The nasally voices summits "Alright, alright, alright... I'll come up with the gold. You just cleaned me out." the commanding voice chuckles "Hahaha, I'm just fuckin' with ya Squid. You're just gonn' scrub my linens and we are even... hahaha!"

So, you guys get a surprise round. Opening the door will count as a normal action. Roll initiative again with your next post.

Zephyr will get close to her door, flinging it open and rolling into the room and off to one side, bow at the ready as she ends at a kneel with the door clear for the others.

Is Hex still available? (has it been less than an hour since it was cast?) If so, using a bonus action to place it on the biggest perceived threat.
