Ramiel pushes the button then grabs the bottom of the opening and starts to lift up. You all hear gears start grinding against each other and the smell of smoke start to reach your nose. After about 30 seconds pass, the door is jammed leaving an opening of about 4 feet.

Leaning over from the side of the entrance Béke will peer inside.

Rolls

Perception - (1d20+5)

(18) + 5 = 23

OOC:
The cavern is unlit, you'll have to rely on dark vision or your own light source.

"Just in case, let's stick something underneath this thing. I don't want to be stuck on the other side." Ramiel suggested as he indicated to one of the wooden crates within the room.
OOC:
Doesn't Beke have darkvision?
Jul 31, 2016 5:00 am
OOC:
Just to specify, Ramiel isn't moving anything, just suggesting?
I believe everyone but Gala has some sort of dark vision.

OOC:
He is just suggesting while keeping his hands on the wall.

"I'm going to have to have to sheath my sword and use a torch in there, that is unless it will adversely affect anyone else's eyes..."
Jul 31, 2016 3:45 pm
"Can someone please put something under this door so we can proceed? I don't want to drop this unless I know it is safe." Ramiel says, fearful of what might happen if Béke is stuck on the other side.
Jul 31, 2016 4:28 pm
"Shhhhh!" Béke insists as she continues to peer into the tunnel "At least two... no, three rats... and something... What in the name of Eldath is that thing!"

Backing away from the door, she looks at the others, and draws her blade. "There's some sort of unholy abomination on the ceiling. We need a plan before we go in there!"
Jul 31, 2016 5:21 pm
"What, I can't just go in there and set everything on fire?" Ramiel asks with an eyebrow raised. Curious to see what Béke is describing as unholy, the half-elf ducks underneath the wall to take a peek.

Gala will try and slide a barrel or crate under the stone to keep it from closing back up
OOC:
Do I Need A Roll For this?

Gala pulls a crate aside and puts it under the door.
OOC:
If you want you can roll a straight Int or Wis check.

"That would be one approach" Béke concedes "and it works well enough on the rats, but..." she pauses for a second, thinking how to describe what she has seen.

"Hanging from a stalagmite is a creature that I have never encountered in all of my travels. Some twisted magical creation, a rat like head with the body of an arachnid. A 'ratpider' one might say."
Jul 31, 2016 8:02 pm
"Yeah, I see what you are talking about. It sure is ugly."Ramiel says in agreement as he lets go of the wall, allowing it to stay where it rests. "Looks flammable enough though."
Aug 1, 2016 2:52 am
"I bet everything looks flammable when you can shoot fire from your hands."

Looking back to Gala, Béke says, "Torch light will be fine, my eyes adjust fairly quickly to such things."

"Shall we proceed then?"

Might as well. Let's get this done so I can get me a drink.

You guys have an action before the initiative roll.

OOC:
can i spend a hit die during the short rest we had in the previous room?

Rolls

hit die - (1d10)

(6) = 6

OOC:
Which previous room? You're still in the cellar. As of now, no, a short rest is at least an hour. It's up to you guys if you want to wait, don't forget you guys have a cleric now.

Seeing the barrel in place, Ramiel grins and ducks into the cavern. Once he is within range of all the rats (especially the abomination), he unleashes another swath of fire to engulf them all.
OOC:
Burning hands AGAIN!

As you hold your hands with thumbs touching and fingers spread, a thin sheet of flames shoots forth from your outstretched fingertips. Each creature in a 15-foot cone must make a Dexterity saving throw. A creature takes 3d6 fire damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.

The fire ignites any flammable objects in the area that aren’t being worn or carried.

Rolls

Burning Hands Damage - (3d6)

(253) = 10

Initiative - (1d20+3)

(15) + 3 = 18
