"We need to know what you will do once free. Will you build and army of modified rats to kill, steal and pillage? Or will you build your own civilization?" A portion of Ramiel's mind is still trying to grasp why he is having a philosophical debate with a telepathic rat.
Aug 17, 2016 4:48 am
"No, I have no plans for an army. A civilization, while it would be nice, i'm afraid my kin don't have the knowledge to make that work. Once free, they will live like how any rats live. As for me, I will pursue my own agenda to gather arcane knowledge, something I am quite fascinated by, across the world."
Aug 17, 2016 4:51 am
Ramiel studies the squeaky voice in his mind for any hints of a lie.

He hasn't really shown you any reason to lie, you sense he's honest.
OOC:
Most of this talking has been done non-telepathically, excluding the few times I specified.

Silene finishes her round and rejoins the party. Her normally-wistful expression seems hard and impassive.
Aug 18, 2016 9:02 pm
"Nibbles here sounds like a reasonable. . . rat. I say we work with it and end the source of this ridiculousness." Ramiel suggested. "I don't know what this Rat King is capable of or what he is, but I for sure knows that he is insane and Nibbles here is not."
Aug 18, 2016 9:07 pm
"I'm starting to question my own sanity" Béke says, truly uncomfortable with the talking rat. "But I agree, let's seek out this Rat King."
Aug 18, 2016 10:49 pm
Silene nods, wordlessly. She makes a point to not look at any of the rats.
Aug 18, 2016 11:14 pm
"Thank you, you are too kind." he takes, what you guess is, the rat equivalent of a bow "The rat-king is not as much of a mystery, now that i'm on your side. He is like you two." he points to Béke and Ramiel "Also ridiculousness is far from the correct word for the situation. This is our livelihood, the rat-king is capable of terrible things, just look around if you need an example. His plans are to take over the surface world. My guess why he wants to and why he chose rats to do it, is to get back for those who cast him out when he was afflicted with lycanthropy. Here, this should come in handy." he scurries off into the open cell and digs through the hay, coming back a few seconds later, holding a corked glass vial containing an opaque yellow liquid. "A potion of rat control, with it you can force a single rat to serve you. I am far too smart to fall under its effect, luckily for you though, I am on your side already. There is a low chance it can fail but it lasts for 6 hours so you can try again. That about covers it. Now where are we headed? There is a prisoner, a young human, near by in the torture room. Or we can go to the door that the rat-kings room and laboratory are behind. Or I've seen the rat-king venture into the fungus chamber with a ratbearpig, you have a potion, you have a ratbearpig, it's an option."
OOC:
Potion of Rat Control:
When you drink this potion, you can force a rat to serve you. As
an action, you can force a rat that you can see within 30 feet of
you to make a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw. On a failed save, the
rat is under your control for the potion’s duration, or until you
choose to end your control over it. Rats with an Intelligence of 5
or greater (like Nibbles) are immune to this ability.
On each of your turns, you can use your action to mentally
command a controlled rat, deciding what action the creature
will take and where it will move during its next turn. If you issue
no commands on a turn, the creature does nothing.
You can only control one rat this way at a time. If you take
control of a rat while already controlling one, the previous
controlled rat becomes free-willed. The potion lasts 6 hours.
Aug 18, 2016 11:23 pm
Ramiel compares this potion of rat control with the vial he found earlier that was next to the Rat King's journal, pulling it out of his pack.

"Wait, lycanthropy?" Ramiel raised an eyebrow at that, "You mean the Rat King is a wererat or something? And what are you doing with a human prisoner here?"
Aug 18, 2016 11:29 pm
"The prisoner should be our priority, especially one being held in a 'torture-room'"
Aug 18, 2016 11:40 pm
OOC:
It is the same potion.
"Ah yes, that was the word he used, wererat. Sadly, I know little about the prisoner, why he is there, or why the rat-king even needed prisoners, let alone a torture room, one of his many flaws if you ask me. Very well, first stop torture room." he holds out his paw, seemingly waiting for someone to hold it.

Izen sighs and extends his hand. Listen here now Nibbles, best not do anythin' relatin' Ta ya namesake.
Aug 19, 2016 12:36 am
He takes Izens hand "As long as you promise not to squeeze too hard, us rats have fragile hands, i'll promise to do no nibbling." with his other hand, he waves and his body distorts before disappearing. Izen you feel a tug on your hand in the direction of the way out. A voice in all your heads echos "Follow me than." He leads you out the entrance way and down. You make your way to another entrance way, before getting a good look of the room itself, Izen a bad feeling washes over you, before a voice breaks through all your thoughts "No no no, back up back up back up, not good." Izen you feel Nibbles now pulling in the opposite direction of the entrance way.

"Are we lost?" asks Silene, pausing as the party's progress has stopped. She looks around, holding up her hand aflame for some light.

You hear a panicked voice, rush through your head "Put that out, put it out." you see a slight flicker in the flame and hear a gentle blowing sound coming up from around Silenes knees. "Don't be daft, this is my home, we are not lost. It seems we have a full moon tonight. I would recommend skipping this area for tonight."
Aug 19, 2016 5:14 am
OOC:
Sorry forgot about the perception roll.
Silene hears faint squeaking, single source it seems and the rattling of chains every now and again.
Aug 19, 2016 12:36 pm
Curious as to why Nibbles seem so reluctant to carry on Béke asks, "What is in there, Nibbles?"
Aug 19, 2016 4:43 pm
"Aren't we underground?" says Silene, perhaps rhetorically though her tone doesn't indicate such. Her eyes glance upward to try and view the full moon, and the flames die out around her hand.
Aug 19, 2016 6:11 pm
"Perhaps we should just heed the creatures advice and pass on?"
