Silene scours the area, looking for any remnants of a Black Lotus; a twig, a stem, or even a leaf. The druid hopes to coax a new flower from its base essence.

The only remnants you find are the mostly dried juices stained onto the doors mouth and running down to the floor.
Aug 23, 2016 7:03 am
OOC:
Can Druidcraft be used on those remnants to create a flower? Probably a long shot, but I figure I'd ask.
Aug 23, 2016 7:34 am
OOC:
If it was a more common flower i'd allow it but given the story behind the black lotus flowers is most people haven't heard of them, and of the people that do know, half of them know only of half-remembered legends. That being the case, since it's so rare and unheard of, it is hard for you to channel your druidic powers to create something from borderline nothing. If you spend enough physical time with one, i'd let you druidcraft one.

OOC:
Thanks!
Silene purses her lips in mild frustration and annoyance. "Like, this is SO not gonna align my spirit," she grumbles to herself.

"Okay," she announces to the group. "I'm guessing this flower is the Black Lotus. There's, like, little bits of its juices and stuff over there and there. I don't know where to find one in this darkness, and I don't know how it's used to get past that door. So, like, do we chance it anyway?"
Aug 23, 2016 7:54 am
You hear a soft squeak before Nibbles whispers "Now I have never been past this door, so take these words with a grain of salt, but unless there is a tunnel leading outside behind them, I've never seen the rat-king leave to the outside more than three or four times and mind you he has to pass by the room i'm stationed to. So either he is a tricksy elf or he has some flowers somewhere in the cavern."
OOC:
No problem.
Aug 23, 2016 10:47 pm
"Do you think we actually need a flower to open the door?" Béke asks, slightly confused as to what's going on.
Aug 23, 2016 11:15 pm
Silene shrugs, hands open palms-up in a gesture of guesswork.
Aug 24, 2016 12:06 am
"I've never seen the rat-king without a flower when coming down this way. If there is an alternative way to open it, it is lost upon us cavern dwellers."
Aug 24, 2016 2:35 am
"So we need to find one of these flowers. Does anyone know where we can find them?" Ramiel asked, directing the question to the members of the party most attuned with nature.
Aug 24, 2016 2:38 am
"They're very rare," says Silene. "Like, I'm not even sure where to begin looking for one. I'd have to think about it, and that's only assuming close relatives, you know?"

What are you trying to learn?
Aug 24, 2016 2:59 am
OOC:
Whether or not such a flower grows underground and nearby.
"Anyway," says Silene, "this Rat King obviously has a stash somewhere if he goes in and out with it. Maybe we have to look there?"
Aug 24, 2016 3:19 am
All your knowledge about black lotus flowers, come from rumors and legends of them. Going off close relatives, you hope it shares similarities with the more common lotus which you know to grow on ponds or still rivers.
Aug 24, 2016 11:59 pm
"I suppose until we find one of these black lotus' we have no other option than to turn back."

Béke moves to the front of the door to give it one final inspection before turning back. "Maybe there's more than one way to get through here..."

It is a solid iron door, you see no handles or grooves of any kind, it seems to almost mold into the surrounding tunnel.

The stone work is smooth and nicely carved out, the paintings covering the walls are faded. Going off that you gather this place has been here for awhile and those that did it were apart of some sort of cult. You don't know anything further than that though.
Aug 25, 2016 7:53 am
"We heard a waterfall, yeah?" ventures Silene. "Like, maybe that falls into a pond calm enough to hold these flowers."
