Ramiel continues to poke at the slime with the sharpened end of the bolt, trying to incite some sort of response from the creature with curiosity.
Sep 3, 2016 10:05 pm
You continue poking, now with no metal on the bolt, the sharpened wood pierces the gooey surface. In a split second it coils up, much like a snake and lunges striking at the bolt.
Sep 3, 2016 10:17 pm
"Ah!" Ramiel lets off a yelp of surprise as he instinctively channels his magic into the crystal in his left glove.

Rolls

Fire bolt - (1d20+5)

(19) + 5 = 24

Fire bolt with disadvantage due to close range - (1d20+5)

(14) + 5 = 19

Fire bolt damage - (1d10)

(3) = 3

The fireball hits the ooze and immediately is singed out.

"Anyone have a staff, or a spear?" asks Silene. "Like, a javelin would work, too."
Sep 3, 2016 11:38 pm
"I have a short shovel in my pack, you could use the wooden handle to poke the sleeping tiger" as Gala offers up the short shovel
Sep 4, 2016 9:21 pm
Silene wonders, "Anything longer?" With a sigh, she accepts the offered shovel and approaches the ooze. Using the wooden handle as bait, she holds the shovel out to entice the ooze to strike at the wood, hoping to lure it away from its perch and clear the tunnel.
Sep 4, 2016 9:44 pm
Silene steps around Ramiel and starts to wiggle the shovel handle in front of the slime. It coils up once again and strikes, throwing it's weight towards Ramiel again. Ramiel easily sidesteps out of the way.
OOC:
Group two is up.

Izen's face brightens as he has an idea. "Keep gettin it ta lunge at ya. See if ya can draw it out ovtha water."
Sep 7, 2016 4:18 pm
Silene nods, having already chanced upon that idea. She tries again to lure the ooze out with the shovel handle, this time away from anyone else in the party.
Sep 7, 2016 5:04 pm
Gala looks on helplessly waiting to see if someone needs assistance
Sep 7, 2016 9:45 pm
Silene nudges the ooze a few times, it doesn't seem to notice her presence. It seems fixated on Ramiel.
Sep 7, 2016 11:18 pm
"It likes you," Silene comments, deadpan. She touches Ramiel's shoulder as though to push him to the side of the ooze, channeling nature's energy through him.
OOC:
Casting Guidance upon him. If this action should take place next round, ignore this post.
Sep 7, 2016 11:28 pm
OOC:
I'd say poking at the ooze is a bonus action, so Ramiel you get 1d4 on one ability check of your choice.
Sep 7, 2016 11:48 pm
Crossing her arms across her chest, Béke watches as the others play with the ooze.
Sep 8, 2016 12:25 am
Ramiel backs away from the ooze, letting it strike if it wants to. Once he gains enough distance, he shoots the creature with the headless, sharpened bolt.
OOC:
That's such a bad shot that I don't think adding a d4 would change the outcome.

Rolls

Light Crossbow - (1d20+5)

(5) + 5 = 10

Crossbow bolt damage - (1d8+3)

(7) + 3 = 10

As Ramiel moves away, the ooze lashes out at him striking him in the chest. When he gets far enough away he lets his bolt loose, sending it sinking into the ooze.
OOC:
You take 4 point of bludgeoning and 5 points of acid damage. What is your armor made of?
You hit, roll for damage. If I read guidance correctly, it isn't attack rolls just ability checks.
Sep 8, 2016 3:22 am
Ramiel expected a strike from the creature, although he was not expecting the acidic properties to work on his own skin, considering that the ooze has yet to dissolve anything but metal. The nobleman lets out a gasp of pain as he pulled the trigger on his crossbow, half surprised that the bolt hit home.
OOC:
I wear cloth only, and have scales from my draconic bloodline. AC 16. And sorry about the wait, I didn't realize I hit. . .

You all watch as Ramiels crossbow bolt sinks through the ooze and out the other side. Those close to it hear a slight gurgle then it goes motionless again.
Sep 10, 2016 7:19 pm
Silene inches closer to the now-motionless ooze and pokes it with the shovel handle.
