Silene nods, and prepares her Druidcraft to call forth the sound of animal footsteps.
Sep 26, 2016 10:19 pm
Ramiel fires off his crossbow again at the starlit creature.

Rolls

Light Crossbow - (1d20+5)

(18) + 5 = 23

Damage - (1d8+3)

(1) + 3 = 4

Silene creates the sound of rats skittering around on the floor, successfully masking Ramiel's crossbow fire. The arrow sinks into one of the two remaining stalactite looking creatures, both of which swoop down to try and grab the sound, swooping back up when they get nothing. They relocate to a different spot, disappearing before the stars reveal them again.
Sep 26, 2016 10:48 pm
Silene will repeat as often as needed.
Sep 26, 2016 11:26 pm
Ramiel will keep shooting. I be damned, these things are stupid.

Once they settle again, the sorcerer will say to his companions, "Anyone else want to shoot?"

Rolls

Light Crossbow - (1d20+5)

(15) + 5 = 20

Light Crossbow Damage - (1d8+3)

(6) + 3 = 9

To make sure they fall for it Silene chooses a different sound at a different spot, masking Ramiel's crossbow fire again. Once again they repeat the swooping down then back up.
OOC:
Are you keeping track of your bolts?
Sep 27, 2016 12:02 am
OOC:
I have used 10 bolts so far.
Sep 27, 2016 12:46 am
After some time passes, you fire the last bolt into the only hanging star-lit stalactite you see, watching it sink in and the creatures body slam into the cavern ground.
OOC:
Ramiel, we'll say you used a couple more bolts but were able to retrieve some putting you back at 11.

Silene creeps forward, moving the light from the lantern further down the passageway.
Sep 27, 2016 11:40 pm
Drawing her bow and readying an arrow, Béke will follow closely behind Silene, watching the ceiling to see what appears.
Sep 27, 2016 11:43 pm
Ramiel follows with his crossbow ready for any signs of starlit "stalactites".
Sep 28, 2016 12:32 am
Those walking forward, you make it 5 feet before you see one stalactite start glowing in stars about 25 feet away.
Sep 28, 2016 7:29 am
"Same as before?" whispers Silene.
Sep 28, 2016 9:36 am
Aye, seems to be a safe an effective ploy
Sep 28, 2016 12:06 pm
Blastin' powda still wouldda bin betta.
Sep 28, 2016 3:39 pm
Ramiel nods in agreement with Silene and raises his crossbow at the starlit stalactite for a shot.

Rolls

Light Crossbow - (1d20+5)

(10) + 5 = 15

Light Crossbow damage - (1d8+3)

(8) + 3 = 11

Silene crafts the sensory effect of a small animal below the stalactite.
Sep 28, 2016 10:17 pm
Same as before, the sound of a small animal appears to mask the sound of Ramiel. Except this one seems to ignore the sensory effect, after the bolt hits it, it swoops to a location above the party.
OOC:
Roll perception, if you'd like.
Sep 28, 2016 10:27 pm
Silene squints her eyes, trying to deduce the change in behavior. Perhaps these darkmantles are smarter than the others.

Rolls

Perception - (1d20+6)

(14) + 6 = 20

Sep 28, 2016 10:32 pm
Silene narrows her eyes, looking at the "stars" above and hears a series of extremely high pitched noises, if not for her keen hearing, it would most likely be inaudible to most. You gather the first three you encountered probably had some sort of mental illness, making them unable to use their echolocation.
