Izen immediately rushes in at the sight of the captives. "Aye let's get'em down from thar." He starts looking for something he can use with his hammer to break the chains.

Silene remains where she is, letting the lantern illuminate the room.

As Izen moves in Elnorath moves over to him and gestures to one of the figures "It may be best to leave that one bound for now" he says, taking care to keep his voice low enough for Izens ears only "He has an injury which looks like one that would only have been inflicted by a werebeast - he may already be infected"

OOC:
Allister, Solus;you can make a dexterity check to try and escape.

Seeing that the people who came in do not have the intent to harm us, I try to get out of these chains....

Well Allister, maybe our little adventure is not over yet...

Rolls

2nd escape attempt with advantage (+4 to best results) - (2d20)

(313) = 16

Feb 17, 2017 1:54 am
Smiling at Solus's remark at further adventures,

"Aye. Let us hope that our fortunes increase over how we have started off.

Looking towards Beke, "Appreciate at the offer. I do admit that I am a worse for wear, and could use some medical attention, once I am free of these chains."

Twisting his hands around and pushing his thumb in as far as he can get it, Allister attempts to squeeze free.

Rolls

Dex Check - (1d20+3)

(2) + 3 = 5

Feb 17, 2017 1:55 am
Unable to slip his hands free, Allister begins to yank on the manacles as hard as he can in a frustrated attempt to break them,

Rolls

Roll one to break free - (1d20)

(11) = 11

Roll two (disadvantage) to break free - (1d20)

(13) = 13

Silene looks around the room. Perhaps the Rat King left a key, or there is a mechanism for releasing the bonds.

Rolls

Perception - (1d20+6)

(18) + 6 = 24

Even with help, it is a hard struggle seeing past the gore and where the manacles end and the wrist begins. The chains jingle, mockingly as you attempt to break them, showing no signs of weakening. Silene, you look around and find nothing that resembles a key or mechanism, you find a book that seems out of place though. A slightly tattered book, that looks to have had a lot of use, the title barely legible reads 'My Friend Mouse'. The faded picture shows a mouse alongside a child, you gather it's some sort of children's book.
Feb 17, 2017 3:29 am
Izen pulls the chains taught and shoves an iron keg tap into one of the chain-links. "Ya may wanta stan' back."

Rolls

Attack the chains - (1d20+5, 1d8+3)

1d20+5 : (11) + 5 = 16

1d8+3 : (6) + 3 = 9

Feb 17, 2017 4:20 am
The chain buckles slightly but not enough to snap.
Feb 17, 2017 5:11 am
"Like, N... Nibbles," says Silene, barely comprehending why she's talking to such an unnatural creature, "what's this book about?"
Feb 17, 2017 5:19 am
Nibbles runs over next to Silene to see the book she is talking about "Oh that book. I think it has a lot of sentimental value to the rat king, he told me to never touch it."
Feb 17, 2017 5:23 am
Silene nods, starting to think that Nibbles is just like a shapeshifter. Yes, that's it. Just a shapeshifter that... stays shifted as a talking, spell-casting rat.
Feb 17, 2017 12:09 pm
"It may have a clue as to how to release these two from their bindings." Beke says, approaching Silene and Nibbles.

"May I look at it?" she asks, kneeling next to the book to get a better look.
OOC:
If Nibbles will allow her, Beke will investigate the book.

Rolls

Investigation - (1d20+1)

(4) + 1 = 5

Feb 17, 2017 12:20 pm
Nibbles nods his head "I don't think you have to worry about the rat king getting mad at you for looking at his book."
OOC:
Without touching it, it looks like a simple book for children, one you read to them at night.
