Hey folks! I'm excited for this campaign - it checks all the right boxes for me.
IMHO I am of the mind we should all work out our characters together as the group if we are going to invest care and comradarie between them.Agreed entirely!
I'm very, very flexible on my character concept at this point, especially as we determine group composition.
Loose concept currently in mind: human investigator who uses his skills to help bring change in a dark and dreary world.
My immediate thought of an investigator is someone who solves mysteries. While that might certainly come up, I am thinking the reverse is also fitting - setting up plots and intrigue to bring down corrupt officials, inciting unrest, etc.

That said, my first thought is something rogue-ish. Perhaps a man that is willing to do the dirty work for C1NDER's investigator, working from the shadows, proud to be the one who is not afraid to get his hands dirty?
Happy to adapt that in any way that the group needs/finds more fun.

My character is at this point a complete and open prospect. I have no preconceived idea. I do, however, have a few classes and races that I find least to my liking as a player and will try to avoid those if possible in my decision making.
Given the thoughts of everyone else above, looks like you may need some muscle or magic? Perhaps a Magus or an ex-gladiator type.

GeneCortess's Cleric will be a great fit with any other party composition.
An Investigator does have a lot of rogue-like qualities (they're a hybrid of Alchemist and Rogue). I would play it less like Sherlock Holmes and more towards subterfuge.
I've also wanted to try playing an Arcanist for quite some time and would 100% on board to try that, if seifi wants to play something rogue-ish, to round us out with a caster.
Equinox - Magus is always a fun class. If you'd rather play something with less of a physical bend, I can fill that role with a classic Ranger or maybe a Hunter.

To answer a couple of questions: Max HP first level, standard starting gold and purchase at full price from the rulebooks (stuff ain't cheap in South Reach). I have no listed alignment restrictions - just play a character that fits the theme of the game and will work with the group. Levels will be by XP, probably on the Fast progression since PbP tends to be slow already.
A note on XP: Since this should be a fairly combat-light game I'll be skewing XP awards heavily towards achieving goals and roleplaying. I will also be awarding each character the same XP - to keep everyone at the same level - so helping another character accomplish their personal goals can help the whole party.
We'll be starting in a small town in South Reach called Ember. Details are sparse on the town so far, so if there's anything that you need to fit your character we can make it happen. Specific NPCs, businesses, nearby geographic features, etc.

I think I am going with a Magus (Eldritch Scion) for class. Bloodline not yet settled on.

Semac went with 2 traits standard and no drawbacks. (Elven Reflexes (Half-Elf) & Ear for Music). She took Improved Initiative for her level 1 feat. She reacts very fast and likes to sing.
If you're interested the MADE-UP Deity Doncore. It is below. Semac originally learned of the Deity, Doncore, from an ancient text she discovered. She felt a force with reading and became a priest of Doncore. She may very well be the only priest of Doncore in existence here.

Looking at the group composition and the setting, I am also thinking of a cavalier perhaps? I feel it could fit nicely with the party composition (and the story we are probably trying to build), but I am not that well versed in PF1E, so feel free to steer me in the right direction!

All cool Equinox. Just putting that out for any that wish to cross history. I generally don't but this game is distinctly party ordinated and I'm unsure if the GM is going to do "get the party together stuff". Lots of dice rolls there Equinox. Yeah I spend days making characters. Usually the bulk is done fast, but finishing up takes much longer. Still have 3 languages now and history to do.

I haven't yet really decided on what part the elf side is on Semac being half elf. I'm sure she isn't part drow. Haven't really touched on her family history yet. I'm sure currently she doesn't associate with them. She is a rather free bird.

@GeneCortess, My PC was born in a ruined temple. This could have been to Doncore or other lost to our memory. She has angelic blood (I am thinking an azata to explain her looks and those half-elf looking ears).
*Haven't quite settled on her name yet, but that's what I am using as her working name for now.
Openings for inter-connections as of the moment (these can be PCs or NPCs):
Companion - Her grandfather and theirs adventured together. May have both fought in the last war..and lost. She has known this person for approximately twelve years now.
Romantic Interest - Within the last three or four years, they have had a rather loose and casual relationship. Could turn serious at some point or not. Either gender.
Servant/Life bond - Within the last several years she has saved someone's life and they now travel with and associate with her, considering her saving them that they owe her their life.
