Character Creation

Please see this space for character sheet info. In addition, I request something that your character believes 100% to be true about the world or their companions, whether or not we the players agree.

My character is Ash, male. He is singer and guitarist for Cade's new band.

New folks, do we think we can get character sheets done by the end of the weekend? I hate to be pushy but I wanna Plaaaay.

I will try to get Ash finished up this weekend. Work has me exhausted and inspiration is not coming to me right now with the mental fatigue, but I do have a couple nights off now.

Last thing from me for now. Don't forget connections. Not just how you know this person, but how you feel about them, what you've done together and to each other in the past, etc.

Ash Wednesday

I have submitted Ash. He not completely finalized yet.

What is the name of the new band?
What happened to the rest of Cade's original crew?

Ash is a rebellious son of good Catholic parents. His family is fairly well off. He's never had a problem finding dates. He generally a hedonist and bad influence, but a good friend to those he calls friend.

He finds Cade intriguing, even though she seems completely immune to his usual sexual magnetism. Rather than it being frustrating, he has drawn closer and become a good friend to her.

Band Name - I'm open (Rainbow in the Dark?)

Fate of Cade's old crew - Maybe they all died in a horrible crash, when Mickey got stoned and ran the van off the old bridge? Cade's first encounter with the House could have been a portent or nightmare?

I think this one is very a you call, but certainly the dark options are in theme

Rainbow in the Dark works for me. Homage to Ronnie James Diio, magic, and the LBGTQ+ community too.

Are we going to the house to shoot a video like the first time around or do we have another reason? Mainly, I ask to determine what equipment to take in. I like the idea that at some point there could be a gratuitous guitar scene, but carrying stuff around throughout for no reason would get to be a drudge.

BTW, I like the bit in the description of the possibility of stepping into other worlds. A foray into What Lies Below would be really cool.

What Lies Below

Qralloq teased a campaign of this and then dumped the whole game after we gaked his Janky villain before he wanted it to happen.

I have amended Cade's backgound:

Cadence Black was born a musical prodigy. Her dad was an abusive monster and she figured out early in life that there could not be a god. She is very serious about her music and demands perfection of herself. Her interests, outside of music of course, are studies of left-hand paths such as the Temple of Set, horror movies, and swimming. She has been openly a lesbian since her sophomore year in high school.

In the last years of high school and into college years, Cade became one of the founding members of a local rock band named MissAnthropy. The band began to fall apart due to its leader singer, Mickey's, drug abuse. One night, after practice, the group was supposed to sneak into an old house in the area and film a video. Which some hoped would boost their career and popularity. Mickey insisted on driving, with his younger sister navigating. Cade tried to get Mickey to let her drive, because he was noticeably very impaired. when he refused, she instead decided to walk the couple blocks to get her own car and drive there herself. The others never made it to the site, as Mickey ran the van off the old bridge and all inside died.

Almost immediately, Cade began to have reoccurring nightmares about she, and those who died in the crash, entering the old house.

Its nearly a year to the day now. She has moved on and formed a new band, Rainbow in the Dark, with a college friend of several years named Ash.

Are Ash's abilities alright? I wasn't sure those were acceptable.

I think his equipment list works. I didn't list a vehicle. Though, I suppose at least one of us has one.

I still haven't put up much of a background for him. I kinda wanted to play that loose until I had more of an idea of the other characters and their possible connections.

Everything as written works for me.

Hearing nothing from the other two, how do we want to proceed? I honestly will just go, we can weave the other folks in fairly easily later if they show, and if not, have a small narrative game.

I'm fine with a two or three character game. We do need a drummer [hint, hint]

I'll give us one more day and then we're starting one way or another.
