Character Creation

Oh meant to ask what age/timelines are people looking at. In my head I had band being around for a good few years, however if there are some rocky relationships in it like Cadence and Micky, it may be a newer endeavour?

Just to summarize everything into one potential mold:

- Mickey (short for Michael?)
- Used to be the Lead Guitar? And defacto leader?
- He had depression and self-medicated?

- Zuri had a thing for him
- Rachel is his younger sister, he was protective / shielding her
- Cadence was a childhood friend and sort of a rival? after they formed the band
- Stephanie used to date him

So... in PMs I worked it a little different, reposting my correction (if that's okay)

Like this. Since there was some antagonism wrt our old leader from both Cade and Carl, I guess they might have held some alliance in the old times, maybe they were even plotting a band mutiny together? Although of course whats-their-name erasure of the map in such a timely manner made the conspiracy unnecessary. The main source of resentment on Carls's part is that he always downplayed his musical talent, probably not so much because of feeling threatened by him but rather to piss off Cade, as Carl was one of "her guys" (although Carl, being a little insecure, doesn't fully understand this).

Nowadays Carl is struggling to fill the shoes of the old guitarist. He doesn't really think he has it in him, and the abrupt way in which he has seized control makes him a bit uncomfortable.

Updating the summary after some PMs with @Orobu:

- Carl and Michael didn't really get along either. Carl was the better guitarist but feels inadequate about filling in the leader's shoes. Despite his relaxed and "don't care" manner he is a bit insecure and reckons he doesn't have the charisma of the old leader.

So Cade is a musical prodigy and was the writer of the songs mostly? Mickey was 'the Heart' but was the person who knew everyone and got us the gigs... and now Rae is trying to do that while Carl takes the spotlight and Cade tries to salvage what she can so she can get out of this failing band? Zuri wants to salvage the band but isn't jiving as well with Carl, and probably is reacting a bit poorly to Cade and her current 'attitude' as Zuri sees it, but mostly just sad that Mickey is gone and feeling the pressure to protect Rae from the worst of it.

Always a blessing to see this much chatter after I get done with my in person game.

Alright, even though I still need to flesh out some of the relationships, I have submitted Carl's sheet. I've also answered the private question there, just let me know if there's anything wrong :)

I'm not sure what qualifies here? just any characteristic or more like a core stat?

The best example is the fantasy character one again. Armor gives a bonus to resist damage, it'd get a +1. So something that you are essentially a full rank better than the others at

Hmmm, maybe you are right about that. It began by getting PMs and the instruction from Melody to PM a deep belief. That kinda put me in to join the secret mode :)

Band that is on the rocks after the death of their lead guitarist, also being the guy who was really good at getting us gigs. Cade was always very musically talented and pushed all of us while in high school to practice. Zuri was a sheltered girl when they met but being in the band pulled her out of her shell. Stephanie was dating Mickey and got convinced to get her dad to buy her a guitar and he taught her how to play. We eventually managed a short local career of gigs and small shows. Mickey let the small amount of success go to his head and got into coke and pills, and start messing up at shows. Zuri was bestfriends with Mickey since school and during this time tried to help him get out of his spiral. She knew privately he was struggling with issues and self-medicating, causing a cycle of self-deprecation and some sort of narcissistic abuse involving Cadence, who was not handling his drug use well, knowing it was getting in the band's way of success. She was right about that. When Mickey died, Cade contacted Carl, who we all knew from highschool? Now they is a schism in the band. Cade wants to push forward and is angry at Mickey, Zuri is trying to Protect Raechel from the whole, thing, and there are some secrets and drama and sprinkled throughout, plenty for the House to feed on.

We also seem to have neglected talking about any sort of GHost hunter quality to this.

I like this version better. Perhaps Carl and Cade were taking music lessons from the same teacher or at the same music center while they were in high school and this is how she knew how talented Carl was. Or....There were two high schools in our borderline suburban townish and the school lines ran down the middle of the street where Cade and Mickey lived. They were neighbors but went to different high schools and Carl went to the same school Cade did. The town was small enough that almost everyone knew each other or at least has seen or heard of each other, but they didn't all necessarily go through their entire school life together.

I'm not sure what you were saying in the thread above about a +1 to a thing or skill that each of us have that gives us an edge in an area over the base 1 we all get. Could you go into that a bit to help me understand?
