A TIME OF HOPE. AN AGE OF HEROES.

More than three hundred years have passed since the fall of the Atlan Alliance, and the people of Aetaltis have finally restored order to their fractured world. Fledgling nations have grown into powerful kingdoms, thriving merchant states have re-established old trade routes, and the priests of the Enaros have rebuilt their great temples. Despite this time of hope, however, the shadow of an ancient evil looms.

Deep beneath the surface of Aetaltis lurk the armies of the fallen god Endroren. For centuries, an order of holy knights known as the Warders of Alantra maintained powerful mystic seals that held the forces of darkness at bay, but when the Alliance fell, so did many of the ancient orders including the Warders. Now, after centuries of neglect, the wards are failing and the dark ones have returned.

For the first time since the Age of Darkness, orcs, goblins, trolls, and a host of other fiendish monsters threaten the good people of the world. They strike with unrestrained cruelty; attacking, killing, and destroying all that lies before them. To face this growing threat, the recently reborn holy orders have combined their divine strength with the temporal power of the new kingdoms. Yet the dark ones are many and the defenders are few.
But there is hope!

Lord Drakewyn of Agthor has called upon the brave men and women of his land to take up arms against their common foe. In response, a small army of independent heroes, known as adventurers, has joined the struggle. These stalwart men and women fight the battles ordinary soldiers cannot fight, go where the holy orders dare not go, and serve as beacons of hope in a world growing darker with each passing day. From hardened Dwarven warriors to crafty Cheebatan rogues, from fleet-footed Fey scouts to mysterious Selenthean mages, these adventurers provide what may ultimately prove to be the only hope for the people of this troubled land.

Will you join these brave adventurers in their quest? Will you put spell and blade to the test in defiance of the Dark Hordes?
The World of Aetaltis awaits!

I have 3 out of 5 of my games either on hold or not involving my PC, so I am hungry for another game. I am also eager to explore The World of Aetaltis, though have no idea about it and will expect DM to help me understand the setting and teach me any customer rules it introduce.
Grezen says:
Include your preferred character to play
Could you please clarify
- do you expect me to share my favorite character from any game in Forgotten Realms settings - concept that may or may not fit Aetaltis settings;
- do you expect me to be able to come up with Aetaltis Lineage/Culture/Background concept before joining the game
- just explain character background and characteristics abstract to race/class, such as an old, wise creature spent most of it's life in the woods

P.S. My preferred character to play is one that best fit the story main hook. As far as I understand we only have setting campaign settings description from it's designers.

I would answer Lord Drakewyn's call. I am interested in playing a Goliath (Orog?) Cleric. 12 unique divine domains, I am sure one of them would be fun to play.

I'm interested. Looking at what the others want, I am thinking about making an arcane caster, and I would love to play one of the setting's unique races (which ones depending a bit on which ones are naturally suited to be casters). I don't own the books though, so hoping for a little help there.

I would also be interested in joining up.

I would love to play either a thieving halfling divination wizard (probably an urchin background, or doing a 1-level dip into rogue), or a mountain dwarf sorcerer who was a sailor or a marine that tapped into some strange stormy magics during their voyages.

I'm also interested. I would like to play a sprite druid, since they very connected to nature and animals.

I am interested.

I'd play a human paladin. A knight lady in heavy armor. Quite practical, the goal validates the means kind of knight.
Eventually going Oath of Vengeance.

Maybe not creative, but I have an art piece I've been dying to use as a portrait.

I have invited you all in but Character Creation is a little involved so if it is not quite you and Character Creation is tedious for you then you are free to leave. I think its an important thing but it just takes a few steps to move through.

I am yours if you need another. I have no clue what I'd play, but your book selection tells me you play a more grounded game, so my gauntlet at your feet.

I'd be interested! I'm fond of playing monks or rogues, but I'm open to playing other things if need be.

Hi guys and THANKS for being so Patient! I have been carefully trying to provide as much information as possible. It is taking a little time but will be well worth it in the end, I can assure you of that.

I am trying to provide information about a whole world and all that it entails. Happy reading!

I'm interested too! I'd be down to play whatever or whomever you need to round out the party!
Jul 15, 2022 5:43 pm
I'm interested as well. I can give you a character concept after seeing what others are making if you're not full. Let me know. :)

The Aarakocra peaks out from the tree leaves he has been hiding in, for the last two days. He looks left, right, down and out, before stepping briefly out into the open and glancing upwards to make sure the way remains clear.

Casting
[ +- ] Cantrip: Gust
to give him just that little extra lift to get airborn again, the flying druid once more continues his search for both sustenance and another potential flock to join. If only he can stay ahead of the predator that stalks him...
OOC:
I'm interested, if it's not too late...?

Thanks!

Hey! New to the site and would to answer Drakewyn's call and hop in that open slot if still available.
I would love to play a Gnome arcane trickster Rogue, maybe from a failed magical academy due to his inclination to tricks and tomfoolery. If not a Dwarf Enchantment Wizard has always intrigued me, maybe a wand maker from a big city!

Ack, I should've put myself on the backup list. I'll do so now with notes that I'll fill a party slot or play a barbarian if a slot needs filling.
