Humphrey stumbled around with his arms outstretched lost in a red abyss. He paused his useless wandering when he heard a loud thump and an otherworldly whistle.
OOC:
These high 90 rolls! I definitely need to start rolling less often. At least this one is a good roll, I think?
As Edith hears the dire tune, she is suddenly beset by dire visions. Bright blue spirits swirl around the room, swooping toward her, around her and back. As they get close, she sees horrific faces, silently screaming.
OOC:
Edith is distracted. She may act but all skill rolls suffer a penalty roll and she may not initiate an attack but may dodge or fight back. This lasts for 1d3 rounds after which there's a SAN roll (1/1d3)

Without much else to do, William tries to wrap the corpse in an effort to restrain it as much as possible. "Please, help me!" William shouts to the others who seem to have lost control of themselves. "We need to stop it."
OOC:
I'll assume I'll need to roll for this, but will this be contested?
That’ll be a strength roll please, and yes, contested.Actually, on second thoughts, lets make it a fighting brawl. There's going to be some pushing and shoving involved and it can then either dodge to escape or fight back. If someone can help. I'll give a bonus die.
Edith is horrified by the images, but she hears William cajoling them to help. With her hands still over her face she runs over to help restrain the thing throwing her weight against it.
William and Edith manage to get the Tarp to wrap the Gardiner-thing. The thing is still struggling and hooting its weird tune.
OOC:
The creature can continue to try to break free until incapacitated, so a contested brawl roll will be required each round if you intend to keep it pinned.
Note that William and Edith now have advantage rolls vs the creature, as they have it outnumbered and has successfully attacked.
